the best dermalogica products

Dermalogica. With a name like that, you must be serious about dermatology and skincare, right?

And Dermalogica sure has an outstanding reputation for getting the job done. But, a lot of it may be down to marketing. Because, even though Dermalogica has a few outstanding products, it also makes quite a few duds.

But let’s leave those aside and focus on the good instead. Here are the best Dermalogica products for the best introduction to the brand:

Gentle Soothing Booster ($64.00/£50.50)

Raspberry, chamomile, calendula, honey… Dermalogica Gentle Soothing Booster is full of natural extracts with anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe irritated and inflamed skin. The only “problem”? It’s fairly basic. It doesn’t hydrate skin or prevent wrinkles, but if you have sensitive skin that’s easily irritated, you’ll still appreciate this a lot.

Intensive Moisture Balance ($69.00/£61.00)

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance is a moisturizers full of antioxidants, such as vitamins A and C, that helps keep wrinkles away from your face that little bit longer. Like the name implies, it is also fairly hydrating. Plus, there’s no fragrance. In other words, it’s just what dry skin needs.

Map-15 Regenerator ($85.00/£80.00)

The MAP in Dermalogica Map-15 Regenerator is magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable form of vitamin C that can boost the production of collagen, fight free radicals, and inhibit the formation of melanin. In other words, it helps treat all the symptoms of premature aging, including wrinkles and dark spots. Add a bunch of antioxidants to prevent premature wrinkles, a dash of hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate skin, a dollop of silica to absorb excess oil, and absolutely no fragrance, and you’ve got a wonderful anti-aging product for all skin types, including sensitive.

Multivitamin Power Firm ($65.00/£45.00)

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm is a little gem designed for those little wrinkles around your eyes and mouth. It’s full of vitamins, including A, C, and E, and plenty of other antioxidants that fight free radicals, helping these delicate areas age better. Of course, this vitamin cocktail won’t firm your skin overnight (don’t believe everything a brand says!), but it’ll make your wrinkles softer and smoother.

Skin Hydrating Masque ($42.00/£38.00)

If your skin’s looking for some moisture, it’ll find plenty in Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque. Suffice it to say it contains sodium hyaluronate, a moisture magnet that can attract, and bind to the skin, up to 1000 times its weight in water! It also has other stuff, like glycerin and butylene glycol, that does the same thing, but on a much lower scale. And plenty of antioxidants. No wonder it leaves skin so soft, smooth, and glowy!

I love their pre cleanse oil and The moisturizer you talk about in this article, but I think their wow product is their antioxidant hydramist. Would you talk about that product? I use it as a toner but it feels very hydrating to my very dry skin face

Glo, I’m not a big fan just because it has too many citrus extracts.

Hi Gio, I’ve just used a sample of Dermalogica’s overnight repair serum. I was wondering what you think of this product? Is there a similar product you would recommend? Thanks
