Haus Of Gloi Depravity Pumpkin Butter Is The Most Decadent Treat For Dry Skin

haus of gloi depravity pumpkin butter review

If I had to pick one body moisturizer for the rest of my life, it would be Haus Of Gloi Depravity Pumpkin Butter.

It makes my drier-than-the-Sahara skin so smooth – for hours. Plus, it smells so decadent.

If you’re tired of bland vanilla or strawberry scents, you’re in for a treat. Here’s why:

What’s In Haus Of Gloi Depravity Pumpkin Butter?

SHEA BUTTER

Shea butter is a godsend for dry skin. Derived from the nut of the Shea tree, this fat is rich in moisturising fatty acids and antioxidants.

Fatty acids are what makes it work so well: they create a protective barrier on the skin that slows down water loss. Moisture is now forced to stay into the skin, hydrating it from within.

FYI, shea butter is even more moisturising than mineral oil (what derms consider the gold standard for moisturisation). Its effects lasts for up to 8 hours, if not more!

PUMPKIN SEED OIL

Together with shea butter, pumpkin seed oil makes up the base of Haus Of Gloi Depravity Pumpkin Butter (the name kinda gave it away, didn’t it?).

What’s so special about pumpkin seed oil? It’s not that different from shea butter. Like shea, it creates a protective barrier on the skin that keeps it soft and moisturised for hours.

Plus, it has its fair share of antioxidants to fight free radicals, the nasty molecules that give you wrinkles and dark spots. Yep, your body needs antiaging skincare, too.

Texture

The texture is very rich, yet it sinks very quickly into the skin, without leaving a greasy residue behind.

Fragrance

Depravity is described as “pure corruption: clove, nutmeg lurk amongst the sweetest offerings of coconut, on a bed of rich golden amber, laden with dustings of sandalwood and spilled wine”.

It’s an opulent, decadent and mysterious ambery woody blend with spicy accents, sweetened by the subtlest touch of coconut. It’s very feminine. And very strong. It lingers on for about a day and a half.

If you’re into sweet and delicate floral fruity scents, Depravity will probably give you a headache. But those who are into exotic, dark and luxurious scents must give this one a go.

P.S. Fragrances can irritate sensitive skin. But if your skin can take it, give this a try. You’ll never go back to vanilla-scented anything!

How To Use It

Apply a small dollop as soon as you get out of the shower. A little goes a looooooooooog way.

Performance & Personal Opinion

Haus Of Gloi Depravity Pumpkin Butter is one of the most moisturising body creams I’ve ever tried in my life – and I’ve tried plenty!

It’s so moisturizing, it leaves even the driest of skin soft and smooth for the entire day. That’s right. You apply it and you forget all about it – no need to touch it up during the day.

This stuff is the real deal. I also like it doesn’t leave a greasy trail all over my clothes. Phew!

Can we talk about the scent? I know I always say I prefer fragrance-free products because they’re gentler for sensitive skin – I stand by that.

But I don’t have sensitive skin. What I have is a passion for perfume. This body butter smells like real perfume – not those fake strawberry or run-of-the-mill sandalwood concoctions.

If you’re a perfumista, you won’t want to use anything else, too.

Who Is This For?

  • Dry to very dry skin
  • Perfume lovers

Who Is This Not For?

  • Oily skin
  • Sensitive skin that reacts badly to fragrance
  • If you like simple scents, this isn’t for you

Packaging

Haus Of Gloi Depravity Pumpkin Butter is packaged in a huge jar sealed with a safety seal – nice touch, especially from an indie brand. You need so little for each application, this stuff will last you for months.

I love that you bolded some of the words. It summarizes the review and explains why you loved it in the summary! 😀 The summary helps a lot and in fact, it’s one of my favorite parts in a review because it’s to the point and states whether the reviewer likes or recommends it.

Janessa, I’m glad you like it. I can become quite wordy, and I know not everyone has always the time to read the entire post, so I hope this helps to make it scannable. That way, anyone can see at a glance what the product does or doesn’t. 🙂
