What are the best hand creams?
I know ya all want to talk about antiaging serums and lightweight sunscreens but guess what?
It doesn’t matter what you do to your face – if you don’t take care of your hands, they’re gonna betray your real age. Fast.
Problem is, most hand creams out there are very basic. Sure, they’ll keep your hands soft and smooth, but what about sun protection or fading away dark spots? Then, the search becomes harder. A LOT harder.
Fret not, I’ve done all the hard work for you. Here are the best hand creams for your every need:
Best For Anti-Aging: EltaMD So Silky Hand Creme ($21.00)
EltaMD So Silky Hand Creme can’t heal severely dry, flaky skin. But it’s a great option for everyone else. Its lightweight, non-greasy texture is loaded with ceramides, the building blocks of your skin’s protective barrier. They strengthen your skin’s barrier, so that it’s better able to withstand the assaults of harsh winter, irritating skincare products, pollution, etc. Strengthen this barrier and you’ll prevent dry, flaky hands. Plus, the cream has a sprinkle of antioxidants to help you slow down premature aging.

Best Hand Cream For Eczema: Gold Bond Eczema Relief Hand Cream ($4.99)
If you’re suffering from eczema or just have very dry, sensitive skin that’s easily irritated, Gold Bond Eczema Relief Hand Cream is just what the doctor ordered for you. This baby has 2% colloidal oatmeal (yep, that’s oats!), a powerful anti-inflammatory that can reduce the symptoms of eczema (and any other inflammatory skin condition). Plus shea butter, ceramides and plant extracts to deeply moisturise skin and strengthen its protective barrier. The stronger this barrier is, the less likely germs, harsh weather and other enemies can irritate your skin. Did I mention it’s fragrance-free?

Best For Dry Skin: CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream (ÂŁ6.00)
CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream is my go-to hand cream. The rich texture feels slightly greasy when you first apply it, but it soon dries down to form a protective layer on your skin that keeps moisture in and germs out. Thank ceramides for that. These little waxes strengthen your skin’s protective barrier to help your skin stay soft and supple in any weather condition. Plus, the cream has a big dollop of Hyaluronic Acid, a moisture magnet that attracts and binds to the skin up to 1000 times its weight in water. It doesn’t get more hydrating than this.
Available at: Feel Unique
I noticed my hands looking quite old recently so I did some research on hand creams, and I came across an article (that I now can’t find!) where an MD recommended a bunch of steps–hyaluronic acid serum; peptide serum; sunscreen; moisturizer; exfoliator. When I punched all these in, I came across M61Hydraboost Hand Cream, which has everything but the sunscreen and exfoliation. I just started using it, but I like it–it is not greasy, but my hands feel soft and look more plumped after I apply it. I’ve been pretty loyal to L’Occitane Shea Butter hand cream for years, but it definitely leaves my hands slippery! M61 is a line available through BlueMercury here in the US.
Rebecca, sounds like a winner! Thanks fro the recommendation.
