EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm Is The Cutest Lip Balm Ever. But Is It Moisturizing, Too?

eos strawberry sorbet lip balm

EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm is one of those products that looks better than it performs. But I still have a thing for it.. Just look at it. Isn’t it cute?

But would I recommend it to someone else? Probably not… Here’s why:

What’s In EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm?

EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm has an oil base. Sunflower, coconut and jojoba oils are all loaded with fatty acids that deeply moisturize the skin.

It works like this: fatty acid strengthen your skin’s protective barrier, so that moisture stays in. The more moisture your skin has, the smoother and softer it becomes.

Plus, a stronger protective barrier means less risk of irritation. With the extra help, your skin is better able to withstand harsh weather, powerful skincare actives, nasty germs and bacteria, and anything else that tries to hurt it.

This lip balm also contains a big dollop of beeswax and carnauba wax. It’s what gives the lip balm its shape. Plus, they have emollient properties that make skin soft and smooth.

The non-sticky texture is neither too thin nor too thick and glides well on the lips.

It smells divine! Sweet, but not nauseatingly so. More than strawberry sorbet, it reminds me of the strawberry ice cream my mom used to buy me when I was little. Every time I use it, it takes me back to my childhood.

How To Use It

Apply it wherever you feel your lips need the extra moisture (hint: prepare to do it often).

Performance & Personal Opinion

EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm isn’t the most moisturizing lip balm I’ve ever tried. That’s an understatement. It barely moisturizes at all!

It leaves my lips soft and smooth, but only for a couple of hours. Then, it’s time to apply another layer. Janessa, the lovely lady who gave it to me, warned me about this so I can’t say that I was that disappointed about it.

My lips are in good condition anyway so this lip balm is moisturizing enough for me. But if yours are dry and chapped then you may have to apply it a lot more often. Better opt for something more hydrating instead!

Shame, cos I love the subtle shine it leaves behind.

Who Is This For?

Anyone whose lips are in good condition, but they still want to have some fun with lip balms.

Who Is This Not For?

If you need a moisturizing lip balm (and who doesn’t?), this isn’t for you.

It’s pink! And shaped like an egg! Isn’t that absolutely adorable? Sure, it’s a little bulky, but it makes application a breeze, and fits nicely the contours of my lips.

Does EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm Live Up To The Hype?

Our all-natural Strawberry Sorbet flavor tastes like frozen sorbet made with vine-ripened summer strawberries.Yes!
We make our eos 100% Natural Shea Lip Balm with wild-grown shea butter and hydrating coconut and jojoba oils for long-lasting hydration.Note how they say they use hydrating ingredients, not that the lip balm is hydrating. They know it isn’t!

Do You Need It?

No. You may get it for the fun factor, but it doesn’t do much for lips.

This sounds awesome! And I’ve been looking for a new lip balm. 🙂

beautifulwithbrains September 12, 2012 - 6:27 pm

Trisha, it’s a lovely lip balm. And the scent is so delicious!

Janessa September 12, 2012 - 7:10 pm

Aw, Gio! Thank you for mentioning me again. I love this scent too, it smells delicious!
:] Expect something within the next two weeks (considering how awfully long it took for my last package to arrive).

beautifulwithbrains September 12, 2012 - 8:57 pm

Janessa, you’re welcome and thank you for sending it to me. Love the scent!

Aww thank you so much hun. You’re too good to me. 🙂 And yeah, the Italian postal service is very slow..

Janessa September 12, 2012 - 11:53 pm

No, I bet the delays come from USPS! They’re so so slow and often ship items to the wrong location. Hopefully it arrives faster this time :].

beautifulwithbrains September 13, 2012 - 5:36 am

USPS sounds very similar to our postal service lol! Oh well, as long as everything arrives safely, I don’t care about the delay… much. And thanks again hun. 🙂

Nice review!
Though aren’t a lot of lip balms not lasting, i need to touch up mine a lot of times through the day.
And i hope the scent is close to real strawberries, because there is this artificiell smell of strawberries that just smells plastic, but if you say it’s like sorbet, then maybe this one is good!!!!/Azure

beautifulwithbrains September 12, 2012 - 9:00 pm

Azure, this one doesn’t smell like plastic, at least not to me. It’s very sweet and delicious. 🙂

xin September 13, 2012 - 1:18 am

it looks really cute! but when it’s flat, you won’t be able to hold it and touch up perfectly anymore

beautifulwithbrains September 13, 2012 - 5:37 am

Xin, that’s a good point. I think I’ll have to use a brush then…

Makeup Morsels September 13, 2012 - 3:28 am

The not moisturizing enough factor is why I haven’t bought one of these yet, since I have very dry lips. They’re adorable though, LIP BALM BALLS OMG. And the scent sounds so yummy

beautifulwithbrains September 13, 2012 - 5:38 am

Makeup Morsels, the scent is divine! But if your lips are very dry, it won’t work well for you I’m afraid. 🙁

La Bisbetica September 15, 2012 - 2:58 pm

It looks so lovely! Luckily my lips are not very dry, I might give this lipbalm a try.

beautifulwithbrains September 18, 2012 - 7:35 am

La Bisbetica, you might enjoy it then. It is a lovely lip balm indeed.
