Move over, snail slime. Ginseng is the IT ingredient of Korean skincare. Used for centuries in traditional medicine to treat all kinds of ailments, it’s made its way in skincare, where it promises to fight wrinkles, erase dark spots and make you look 10x younger. Can it deliver? I’ve put I’m From Ginseng Serum to the test to find out. It has one of the highest concentrations of ginseng I’ve come across in a skincare product so far. If this fails, there’s no hope. Here’s what happened:
The Verdict
My rating: 4.5/5
Best for: Anyone who wants to prevent premature wrinkles and make their skin look smoother, softer, and more supple.
Skip it if: Your main concern is dehydration or you’re expecting existing wrinkles to disappear overnight. This isn’t a miracle worker.
What I like: The whopping 7.98% red ginseng extract, antioxidant-packed formula, and lightweight texture that sinks in quickly. My skin feels ridiculously soft in the morning, and I’ve even had compliments on how good it looks.
What I don’t: The weird sweet, earthy scent. Plus, use too much and it gets tacky on oily areas.
Bottom line: I’m From Ginseng Serum is worth buying if you’re serious about preventing premature aging. It’s packed with antioxidants that fight free radicals, and it makes skin look smoother and more refined. Will it make you look 10 years younger? Nope. But healthier-looking, ridiculously soft skin? I’m sold.
Key Ingredients In I’m From Ginseng Serum: What Does Science Say?
RED GINSENG EXTRACT TO FIGHT PREMATURE AGING
Did you know the Koreans call ginseng “the herb of youth?” They believe it helps with anything, from boosting memory to enhancing stamina and keeping wrinkles away. I’m From Ginseng Serum has a whopping 7.98% red ginseng extract, grown for 6 years in the Geumsan county of South Korea, the ginseng capital of the world. What makes it special? Ginseng is loaded with antioxidants, including flavonoids and saponins, that tackle anti-aging on several fronts. Studies show it:
- Boosts skin hydration
- Softens skin’s texture
- Helps fade uneven skin tone
- Helps firm skin and fade away wrinkles
Ginseng’s the real deal. And, there are several types of ginseng here to do the job. Exciting, isn’t it?

ANTIOXIDANTS TO PREVENT WRINKLES
Ginseng isn’t the only antioxidant in I’m From Ginseng Serum. This stuff is packed with them. Here are the highlights:
- Green Tea: An antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It fights free radicals, soothes irritations and helps prevent sun damage.
- Licorice: An antioxidant with skin-brightening properties. It helps fade away dark spots, calm down irritations and destroys free radicals.
- Amur Cork Tree Bark Extract: A mild antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties to fights wrinkles and irritations.

HYALURONIC ACID TO HYDRATE SKIN
Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant. Hume… what?! Let’s start this again… Humectant is a fancy way of calling ingredients that attract moisture from the air into the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is the most famous member of this family – for a reason. It attracts and binds to the skin up to 1000 times its weight in water. That’s a lot of extra moisture for your skin. Enough to make it plumper, softer and brighter.

Texture
It’s this dark golden amber color that literally looks like honey. Not sticky though, thank god. The texture is kinda medium – not thick, not watery, just somewhere in the middle. Spreads nice, sinks in fast. Pretty easy to work with honestly.
Fragrance
So here’s the thing: you’d think a ginseng serum would smell like, you know, ginseng. But nope. It’s this strong sweet and earthy mix that’s honestly a bit weird at first. The good news? It disappears pretty quickly so you’re not stuck smelling it all night.

How To Use It
Use about 1/3 of the dropper – seriously, don’t go crazy with it. More isn’t better here. If you slap on too much, your oilier areas are gonna feel tacky and gross. I use it at night after my retinol or exfoliating stuff, and before my moisturizer. Just smooth it on and let it do its thing.
Packaging
It comes in this sleek bottle with a dropper. Looks nice, feels fancy, does the job. Nothing groundbreaking but it’s clean and functional. I do miss the old glass bottle though.
Performance & Personal Opinion
My skin feels so damn soft when I wake up. Like stupid soft. And people have actually been complimenting my skin which literally never happens, so there’s that. Here’s the deal though: this is antioxidants, which means it’s preventing wrinkles, not erasing them or fixing elasticity. You’re not gonna wake up looking 10 years younger. It takes time and you gotta stick with it.
Also don’t think this is gonna fix dehydrated skin – yeah there’s some HA in there but not enough to be your main hydrator. This is about anti-aging, not dryness. But for making my skin smoother and softer? It’s really good at that.
Who Should Use This?
You’re worried about aging and want something to help prevent wrinkles while making your skin look better now. Just don’t expect it to be your hydration hero if you’re dealing with dry skin issues.

not convinced. How is this maunfactured to keep the Anti Oxidant stable? Most are useless after coming from the factory. This does nothing other Anti Oxidants like vit C can do
Jeff, I agree ginseng is not as studied as vitamin C, although the initial research is very promising. I keep mine in the box so as to keep the antioxidants stable for longer.
