Sunday Survey, Vol.13

1. Do you collect anything?
Not really. I used to collect anything I could get my hands on (cds, magazines, books and all kinds of memorabilia) about my favourite music bands when I was a teenager but I threw away most of that junk years ago. As for makeup, I have a lot of it but I only buy what I use, so you can’t really call me a collector.

2. Do you remember the first time you tweezed/waxed/did your brows?
I was 16. I didn’t wear makeup at school back then (only foundation and gloss, maybe mascara on bad-skin days) so my schoolmate Luna, who wanted to see me with makeup, decided to apply some on me during the recreational break. I never really knew you could do something to your brows back then (hey, this was more than 12 years ago, who cared about brows back then?!) so I was surprised when she pulled out a pair of tweezers and started tweezing away. She had only just removed a couple of hairs, when our philosophy teacher walked into our classroom (not sure why, the bell hadn’t rang and so lessons weren’t about the start yet) and when she saw what we were up to, she told Luna to leave my brows alone as she thought they already had a great shape. I was actually kind of relieved as it was a bit painful lol. She still did the rest of my makeup though.

3. Are you planning/have been on holiday this summer?
Sadly, I’m not going anywhere this summer. But I’ve been to London for a few days in April so I can’t complain, I had a fantastic time there!

4. WordPress or Blogger?
Self-hosted WordPress. Of course, you have to pay for your own domain and host, but you have the freedom to do pretty much everything you want. I heard Blogger is pretty good too, but it has the worst comment system ever! Why should I have to log into my google account every time I want to leave a comment? Why is there an Open-Id option since no one knows what it is and it stopped working for me months ago and I have no idea how to fix it anyway? Why can you only leave your url and not your email as well, which forces people to write theirs on the web for all to see if they need to leave it in their comment if the owner should need to contact them (for giveaways for example)? And why the hell there is an anonymous way to comment anyway? And don’t get me started on pop ups! Their comment system drives me crazy (although you had probably gotten that by now lol)! And it’s a shame, cos apart from that, Blogger is a great blogging platform.

5. What do you think of Disney movies?
I love the old classic fairy tales like Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland.. They are beautiful stories with valuable moral lessons still applicable nowadays. And the drawings were just amazing. I watch the new ones too but I don’t like them as much as the old ones. For starters, I hate computer-animated cartoons, they always look hideous compared to the old hand-animated ones. And the stories are so boring these days..

Your turn now, here’s the list:

1. Do you collect anything?
2. Do you remember the first time you tweezed/waxed/did your brows?
3. Are you planning/have been on holiday this summer?
4. WordPress or Blogger?
5. What do you think of Disney movies?

#2: I think my first time getting my brows tweezed was when I was 17, which was done by my aunt and i was amazed by the results. 😛 i obviously knew nothing much about makeup back then

Xin, I think it’s only in the last few years that people started caring about brows. Before, most people didn’t pay any attention to them and didn’t know you could do anything to them (that’s me too). I’m glad your first brow tweezing experience was positive. My mate stopped plucking after a couple of hairs so I never saw how good a tweezed brow can look until years later when I finally tried for myself.

3. Hell ya…..on 27 July I will go to Ibiza…clubbing clubbing and more clubbing 🙂 I can’t wait for it. Unfortunately this will be the first vacation where I don’t take my laptop with me so….I will be disconnected entirely
4. WordPress or Blogger? Self-hosted WordPress too 🙂 I’m glad that you wrote that about Blogger….OMG how many times I’ve commented with my Google account (which I hate, cause I have other name there) on other blogs and they didn’t even know it was Tavia from Chicprofile. ggggrrrrrrrr
5. What do you think of Disney movies? I liked them when I was a child….and I think even after 🙂

Tavia, that’s so frustrating about blogger isn’t it? I’ve included by website url in my profile so people that’ll click on it will know who I am but that’s just an extra step. And most people just don’t bother clicking on the profile page at all so they won’t know who you are anyway. It frustrates me so much that, unless I like a blog A LOT, most of the time, I don’t bother to comment cos it’s just an hassle really. Blogger should just use the same system as everyone else, it’ll make life a lot easier for all.

Have fun in Ibiza hun! 🙂

Cati, I guess some people would say I collect makeup too judging by the size of my stash lol. But makeup, shoes and clothes are so pretty and hard to resist..
