1. Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor Lipstick: how cool is this lipstick? Unfortunately, it doesn’t apply blue, but only leaves a sheer cool berry tint on the lips that makes your teeth look whiter. Pretty handy, huh?

2. Jane Cosmetics’ Multi-Colored Cheek Powder: a cute bouquet of beautiful shades in one blendable blushing powder to create a natural flush or a pop of colour on the cheeks. It’s available in three shades: Pink Bouquet, Peach Bouquet and Berry Bouquet. I want them all!

3. Benefit Hydra-Smooth Lip Color: this moisturizing lipstick is available in 10 universally flattering shades, which offers three levels of coverage: sheer, medium, and medium-full. The double-slanted tip is custom designed to define and fill lips easily. Plus, the retro style packaging is too cute!

4. Suzannah Polaire 1920s Couture Dress: I love this ’20s inspired black dress. It’s simple, elegant and features a hand beaded diamante collar to add a charming touch to the look.

5. Collistar Twist Gloss Ultrabrillante: available in 8 shades, these chubby pencils have a rich and creamy texture that’s comfortable on the lips and provide lots of shine.

6. Freedom At Topshop Miniature Flower Midi Ring: how cute is this ring? It’s a gold look textured flower-shaped ring, with a white and light blue rhinestone in the centre that adds an interesting and modern touch.

What I’m Reading Now

am I beautiful chine mbubaegbu
Am I Beautiful? by Chine Mbubaegbu. A book about beauty and self-esteem written by Christian editor, journalist and writer Chine Mbubaegbu. We are constantly bombarded with images of sticky-thin, young and flawless women and, as a result, many of us feel they don’t measure up. Worse, we feel worthless. Mbubaegbu wants women to reclaim their beauty by reminding them that they are made in the image of God, and that it’s in God, not a mirror or men’s opinion, that they will find their own beauty. The author too has suffered from body image problems, and shares them all in the book, also offering tips on how to overcome them. I wouldn’t recommend this book to non-Christian women because of the many Bible quotes the author uses to make her points, but the message is universal. There’s more to women than looks and true beauty has nothing to do with the size of your thighs or the colour of your hair. Overall, I found the book very inspirational.

Yay I didn’t miss it this week! These past 2 weeks have bene a little busy.

1. “Are you talking to me?” De Niro in Taxi Driver
2. I don’t use cream blusher.
3. I have yet to eat breakfast but this summer I did enjoy ice cream in the afternoon a “few” times. 🙂
4. Wonder Woman!
5. I had to google “fur sleepers” & if you mean slippers, not really. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever owned any.

Have a great week Gio! xx

Icaria, ice cream on a summer afternoon is such a nice and refreshing treat, isn’t it?

I mean slippers made or decorated with fur. They look really cozy, but I’m not sure I’d wear them.

Icaria September 1, 2013 - 8:28 pm

Fur slippers, that’s what I thought & Tavia’s comment about them makes perfect sense. I can’t imagine myself wearing them with wet feet!

beautifulwithbrains September 1, 2013 - 9:44 pm

That’s be quite uncomfortable, I think, too!

1. First movie quote that comes to your mind? No this is not a love story, but it is a story about love. About those who give in into it, and the price they pay. And those who run away from it, because they are afraid, or because they do not believe they’re worthy of it. (I’ve always loved this quote from Original Sin and it’s also my favorite movie, I’ve seen it more than 10 times)
2. How do you apply cream blushes? Gently dabbing with my finger…but I’m not really fond of cream blushes since I have an oily complexion. I usually turn to matte blushes.
3. Today’s afternoon snack? It’s over 6 PM here and I haven’t eat anything since breakfast…what snack? I don’t snack 🙂 You just reminded me to eat, I’ll go grab a few blackberries and make them my lunch/dinner.
4. Wonder woman or cat woman? Cat women all the way as I’m thinking about that sleek cat eye and her black suit 🙂
5. Do you like fur sleepers? I had some pink fur sleepers once but they had a very short life. They were only nice and nothing more, I couldn’t wear them after shower or in the bathroom as I didn’t like the feeling of my wet feet in them.

Tavia, that’s a beautiful quote! And I love that movie too, it’s really good. 🙂
