Sunday Random Ramblings, Vol.84

by Gio

Hello everyone,

and welcome to another week of random ramblings. I hope you’ll enjoy them, and don’t forget to share yours!

Cabrioni Pokerini

cabrioni pokerini
Warning! These biscuits are addicting! I picked up my first pack of Pokerini by Cabrini a few months ago because I loved their heart shape. But they aren’t just cute, they are also delicious! They are made with butter and honey and although both these flavours are very subtle, they are quite sweet and yummy. And the smell! Every time you open it, your nose is hit by a delicious honey scent! I try to eat about 3 at breakfast, but most days I’ll reach for two or three throughout the day. I’m trying to cut back but it’s just so hard to resist something this good, you know? I think I should just stop buying them for a while lol. What are your favourite biscuits at the moment?

What I’m Reading Now

charlie and the chocolate factory roald dahl
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
Although I knew the story and had even seen the movie with Johnny Depp, I had never read the book yet. I thought it was high time I remedied that and I’m glad I did. This is a wonderful and magical story that even adults will enjoy. Charlie Bucket and four other children won a Golden Ticket to visit the largest, most awesome chocolate factory in the world owned by Mr. Willy Wonka. Although they don’t know it, there is a prize to be won. But while Dahl amazes us with all the wonders inside the factory, he also provides some valuable lessons. All the eliminated children fail because of their bad behaviour, which is then highlighted by the songs sang by the Oompa loompas. So we are warned against the dangers of watching too much TV instead than reading books and of spoiling children. Yet, the story is so entertaining that you never feel like the author is preaching anything. Overall, a fab read that I highly recommend to everyone.

1. Are you going/have you gone on holiday this summer?
Unfortunately, not. But hopefully, I’ll be able to travel later this year.

2. Favourite blush shades?
Peachy pink shades with golden shimmers such as Nars Orgasm and Milani Minerals Blush in Luminous. They give the complexion a healthy and radiant flush.

3. Go-to summer look?
A wash of cream eyeshadow on the lids, a coat of mascara, concealer where needed, a touch of blush and lipgloss.

4. Would you rather go back in time or skip back to the future?
Well, I’d love to be able to travel back in time and meet all my favourite historical figures. I’m not sure I’d love to know what lies in the future though.

5. What do you think of bow belts?
I think they are cute and feminine.

1. Are you going/have you gone on holiday this summer? I’m hoping to go on vacation on 19 September but there’s nothing 100% sure. All of my friends have already came back from their vacations and I realize I’m so tired and I badly need a vacation when I listen to their stories from a relaxing vacation. 🙂
2. Favourite blush shades? Pale Pink
3. Go-to summer look? This year I kept it really simple because the temperatures have gone nuts here (even + 50 degrees Celsius). I chose to take even better care of my skin, hydrate, moisturize and exfoliate and a high SPF. Talking about makeup I only wear mascara, lipgloss or lipbalm (rarely lipstick) and concealer when I really need it.
4. Would you rather go back in time or skip back to the future? Going back in time means that you already know what to expect and if you have a favorite period of time than for sure it will be great (I’ve always want to wear those princess dresses, that’s my favorite period) but advancing further into the future may look a bit scary as we don’t know what we will find or if we can adapt with all the technology and gadgets but somehow I’m pretty sure the simple things will disappear and the world will be more mechanical than human. I really don’t know what to choose. I would want to spend a week in the past and one in the future. 🙂
5. What do you think of bow belts? Super cute as I always loved bows 🙂

Tavia, 50?! Wow! And I thought we had it bad here when the temperatures reached 40! Better keep your makeup as simple as possible in this case.

And I hope you’ll manage to go on holiday in September! 🙂

PS: Funny that you should mention biscuits as a bag of Fantasie del Mattino Divella Cacao Frollini Al Cacao Magro is laying on my desk this morning. 🙂 I believe they are Italian. 🙂

beautifulwithbrains August 11, 2013 - 4:07 pm

Tavia, I believe so too, but I haven’t tried them. I’ll have to remedy that soon. 🙂 How do you like them?

Tavia August 11, 2013 - 7:19 pm

My boyfriend’s mom discovered this brand and she is sending us a box of these biscuits every weekend. This week we had the cocoa version but last week she sent us some the version from integral cereals 🙂 I like the cocoa’s one better but I can’t eat more than 5. 🙂

beautifulwithbrains August 11, 2013 - 8:07 pm

That’s so nice of her. And I agree, cocoa biscuits are more delicious than integral ones. 🙂 Have you tried ottimini al limone? They’re lemon biscuits and really yummy!

Kiss & Make-up August 11, 2013 - 11:25 am

1. Are you going/have you gone on holiday this summer? Not this year nope. But I am going back to Belgium next week, for a four-day family visit.

2. Favourite blush shades? Coral!

3. Go-to summer look? A colorful smokey

4. Would you rather go back in time or skip back to the future? Is staying young forever also an option? 🙂

5. What do you think of bow belts? Cute!

beautifulwithbrains August 11, 2013 - 4:11 pm

Kiss & Make-up, I hope you enjoy your visit!

Thanks for the shoutout, Gio!

1. Are you going/have you gone on holiday this summer?

Well, I went on a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but that was in the spring. This summer, I went on a one-night camping trip and am planning on doing a two-day camping trip in a few weeks.

2. Favourite blush shades?

Frankly, I like most of them, though I almost always want them to be sheer. And shimmery is good.

3. Go-to summer look?

I’ve been going light or non-existent on the eye shadow. Perhaps it’s laziness?

4. Would you rather go back in time or skip back to the future?

Maybe back in time to my own childhood and adolescence. I have a crappy long-term memory, so it would be like experiencing it for the first time. 🙂

5. What do you think of bow belts?

beautifulwithbrains August 12, 2013 - 9:37 pm

Trisha, you’re welcome. 🙂

Oh, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter sounds awesome! I’d love to go one day too. And I hope you have fun on your camping trip.

Janessa November 20, 2013 - 7:24 am

I’ve read that book before and seen the movie! 🙂 ohh I want to try those cookies and I’m going to look up where I can buy them (probably Amazon!). My favorite biscuits… Hmm. My favorite biscuits are probably more like crackers. I like Annie’s bunny crackers and Trader Joe’s multigrain ones on a caramel brown box.

1. I did! I went to London and Paris for the first time in my life and went to the east coast!
2. I like lavender pink blushes for that soft sweet cheeks that don’t look so ‘natural ‘ but still flattering on me and is obviously makeup for those who know makeup. I look best in peachy blushes and bright blush colors as they make me look brighter and more colorful. Pale blushes are nice and great for every day except they sometimes don’t pack enough punch on my pale skin.
3. I love that look! Mine would be filled in brows, bright cheeks, curled lashes, and highlight the inner corner, browbone, and waterline for a bright clean look! I like to use lipstains or gloss more in the summer. Sometimes I’ll dab on very pigmented lipstick as a stain.
4. If I had to pick, I would go back in time. The future is full or surprises and what I don’t know only limits me less! I have huge ambitions I plan on accomplishing and I don’t care how the future turns out because I know I will make them work!
5. I love them and wish to own one except I don’t wear belts so I shouldn’t own one. 🙂

beautifulwithbrains November 20, 2013 - 8:26 pm

Janessa, I hope you can find those biscuits on amazon, but I warn you, they’re addictive!

I love your attitude! If you believe in yourself you can accomplish everything you set your mind too. And I’m sure you’re gonna do great things in the future! 🙂
