Sunday Random Ramblings, Vol.61

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope you’re having a nice day. Fancy listening to my random ramblings and sharing yours with me? Let’s get started then:

Juliette Has A Gun Mad Madame

juliette has a gun mad madame
Last December, niche brand Juliette Has A Gun released a new fragrance for the woman who dares. Mad Madame is a more mature scent than those released so far, but still has a touch of craziness, like the woman who wears it. Here’s how the brand describes it: “A heady cocktail of green chypre and metallic Rose Oxyde combines with the Blackcurrant bud Absolute and the woody-modern Ambroxan in this provactive fragrance. The heart infuses Peony accord and essence of Patchouli and Tuberose absolute. With a base of White Musk, Tolu balm, and Vanilla absolute, Mad Madame leaves behind a hint of scandal and a touch of romance.” Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Mad Madame is available in 50ml (€79) and 100ml (€103) and can be purchased at

What I’m Reading Now: Making Sense Of Chemical Stories

making sense of chemical stories
Making Sense Of Chemical Stories by Sense About Science. Sense About Science, a British charitable trust, has put together a short guide about chemicals to set the record straight on the many misconceptions about them. It explains why it is impossible to lead a “chemical-free” life, why synthetic chemicals are safer than natural ones, how to determine the safety of a substance, why accumulation in the body isn’t a concern and how chemicals have improved our lives. The book is very short, written in an interesting, straightforward, and easy-to-follow style that anyone can understand. It’s very informative and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially those who are trying to make sense of chemicals in cosmetics and wondering if they should avoid them. And the best part? It is free. You can download it here.

Sunday Survey, Vol.140

1. Have you ever ridden a horse before?
When I was a child, I once rode a pony at a fair and I loved it. I love horses and I hope I will have the chance to learn to ride one day.

2. Best cleansing oil?
Plain, old olive oil.

3. What TV shows are you watching at the moment?
Glee season 3 and Grimm. And I’m also rewatching all the Supernatural seasons, love that show!

4. Do beauty blogs help you save money or splurge more often?
I think a bit of both. They make me save money by preventing me from buying disappointing products, but with the money thus saved I then buy something they made me lem lol! They make me spend more wisely, I think.

5. Do you keep up with fashion week?
I keep up with collections from my favourite designers. As for the makeup, I don’t care much about it. I find most of the makeup looks quite boring and unexciting.

1. Have you ever ridden a horse before?
Once or twice – my mum’s friend owned a pony. Unfortunately horse-riding is a very expensive hobby around here!

2. Best cleansing oil?
I’ve got a Bobbi Brown cleansing oil – the only one I’ve tried. I do love it though!

3. What TV shows are you watching at the moment?
Literally at the moment we have Sponge Bob Square Pants on! I do often find it very funny actually – personally I don’t get to see MUCH TV, but love Downton Abbey (when it’s on – it’s not at the moment), Lewis and Coronation Street. Also like on-off documentaries and Attenborough Natural World series.

4. Do beauty blogs help you save money or splurge more often?
Oh definitely splurge more often! Even to the extent that I have ordered from Sephora and USA when things not available over here in the UK.

5. Do you keep up with fashion week?

Viv, horse-riding is an expensive hobby here too and it’s such a shame, isn’t it?

And I find Sponge Bob very funny too. 🙂
