Sunday Random Ramblings, Vol.31

by Gio

Hello everyone,

another week has gone by and it’s already time for some more random ramblings! Let’s get started:

How Cosmetics Are Made

Chemists Corner has really posted a lot of interesting things this week. One of them (check out the links below for more) is this interesting video on how Pielor products are developed and manufactured. I think it’s really interesting to see the whole process by which cosmetic products are created and I hope you will enjoy it too.

What I’m Reading Now

Death In The Clouds by Agatha Christie. Moneylender Madame Giselle is murdered with a rare snake poison on a plane full of people but no one sees anything. Not even Poirot, who’s travelling on the same plane. It seems really incredible that such a murder could be committed without no one noticing, and the only thing that’s clear from the start is that the murderer was on the plane too. So, we become privy to the personal lives of all the passengers while Poirot investigates. There are lots of red herrings, twists and surprises in the book and the ending caught me totally by surprise. Although it’s not my favourite Christie novels, it’s still an entertaining read and a great puzzle to solve.

Sunday Survey, Vol.111

1. When was the last time you took the bus?
I can’t remember, I think it’s been years. Public transportation sucks here. The buses schedule isn’t that good, there aren’t any at night, and during the day they’re often late. And of course very expensive. I’d love to use the car less but sadly that’s often the only way to travel round here.

2. What clothing brand would you like to see do makeup?
Vivienne Westwood. She’d probably come out with interesting colour combinations and the packaging would be very edgy too. Also, Elie Saab. His line would be so elegant and feminine. And Alice Temperley just because I love her designs.

3. What’s your favourite summer comfort food?
Ice cream.

4. Swimming or skiing?
Swimming.

5. What do you think of peplum dresses?
I’m asking because I haven’t decided whether I like them or not yet lol.

It’s your turn now!

3. What’s your favourite summer comfort food? Ice cream and Greek salad
4. Swimming or skiing? Swimming

Tavia, I agree. It’s a nightmare to travel when it’s that hot and there’s no air conditioning on the bus…

1. When was the last time you took the bus? On Saturday)
2. What clothing brand would you like to see do makeup? Garteh Pugh or Rick Owens if we are talking about designer clothing lines.
3. What’s your favourite summer comfort food? It’s probably more suitable to say that it’s a drink – smoothie with bananas, ice-cream and milk. I like it to be very simple, sometimes I may also add some blueberries.
4. Swimming or skiing? Definitely skiing
5. What do you think of peplum dresses? I don’t like such dresses or tops, not on myself.

Marina, I think Gareth Pugh would come out with a very interesting makeup line. Would love to see it actually!

Love the links! The last time I read a book was a week and a half ago :o. A book about angels 😀 and I really like it but I just haven’t had time.

1. I rode a bus today to a museum! Aw, poor you. That’s not right for buses to be off schedule. That’s what a schedule is for!
2. Vivienne Westwood is a great choice. I don’t know of that many brands or at least not their unique style so I don’t have an answer for this one.
3. Icecream, yogurt
4. Swimming!
5. I don’t really the general style of them but I’ve seen several that I did like.

Janessa, I know. They often tell us that we have to use public transportation, but how can you if they’re always late? And in big cities like Rome, they’re often even an hour late! I didn’t believe it at first until I went there and had to wait in line for ages…

It’s really hard to find time to read books as you get older, isn’t it? I find a Kindle really helps with that as you can take it around with you and read wherever you are. 🙂
