Sunday Random Ramblings, Vol.30

by Gio

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this week’s random ramblings. Enjoy!

The Findation Project

Buying foundation online is almost a mission impossible. But Findation plans to change that. How? Findation is a global project that will allow users to find their perfect match in any brand based on the shades and brands they are currently using. At the moment Findation is in beta mode, and needs as many people as possible to go on the website to tell them what foundation shade they are using. Once the data is received, an algorithm will figure out what colours are similar, across different brands and products. I think this is a wonderful idea and I hope that many of you will check it out and enter the foundation shades you use, and then tell all your friends to do the same. The sooner all the data is collected, the sooner the website will be up and running!

What I’m Reading Now

Emma by Jane Austen. Although I love Jane Austen, I found it quite hard to get into this book at first because it is very, very slow. But I’m glad I’ve persisted and read it till the end because it is also a wonderful book. Emma is a girl who apparently has it all: she’s beautiful, she’s rich, she’s clever and lively, and although single, she’s perfectly happy with her life as it is. She’s also snobbish, which irritated me at first, but as the book progressed, I really warmed up to her. Emma likes to play matchmaker for her friends but she’s not good at it and it all goes horribly wrong. As always, Austen has done an excellent job at portraying the society of her time with all its faults, duties and privileges. Overall, I’ve fallen in love with this novel. And with Mr Knightley too. He’s such a great hero and I love him just as much as I love Mr Darcy.

Sunday Survey, Vol.110

1. Which Harry Potter house would you be in?
I’d totally be in Ravenclaw because I love learning and studying for the sake of knowing stuff.

2. Do you switch to waterproof mascara in the summer?
Not really. I rarely use waterproof mascaras these days cos they are difficult to remove.

3. Do you use any beauty apps?
Nope, I have an old mobile phone and apps just don’t work on it. I’m not sure I’d use them even if I could do, though. I’m not really an apps person.

4. Would you rather be a werewolf or a vampire?
A vampire. I think vampires are sexier and I’m not really interested in being hair.

5. Do you like hats with feathers?
Love them! I think they’re beautiful and fun.

And I agree, I much prefer the old-style vampires too!

Janessa, it’s not easy to keep reading boring books but I still do it because sometimes they get better as the story progresses which is the case for Emma. If you can make past the first few chapters, it’s very enjoyable. 🙂

I would have put you in Hufflepuff too as they are hard-working, friendly, loyal and honest. 🙂
