Sunday Random Ramblings, Vol.132

by Gio

Hello ladies,

it’s Sunday again, and you know what that means, right? Yep, time for some random ramblings:

1st May

Have you done anything special on May 1st? My boyfriend and I went to Camerino, a small medieval town famous mostly for its university. In the first picture, you can see one of its gardens. It’s a very quaint and picturesque little town, but what impressed me the most was its public parks. Each of their flowerbeds were designed and created by one of the many associations in the city. My favourites were those featuring Dante Alighieri, Italy’s greatest poet, and a little man playing bocce. They were beautiful and creative. We also went to another medieval town, Macerata, afterwards, but, although it’s bigger than Camerino, and quite pretty too, there really wasn’t much to see. Have you visited any nice towns lately?

I went with my boyfriend to Istanbul for the holiday.

20+ hours in the bus, but it was so worth it.
I think Istanbul has become one of my favourite cities.
I’m so glad my boyfriend went with me – I’m a bit apprehensive about traveling with others, but he was a great traveling partner.

We should have spent more on food and … stuff.

Love that there are streets and quarters dedicated to one thing – a street for motors, a street for stationery, a block for food, a quarter for textile (and in it a street for curtains, a street for underwear, a street for ties and scarfs)… you get the idea.

The unwillingness to put up the prices was a bit tiring though. Haggling is great and all, but imagine going into a supermarket and not seeing any of the prices!

Gio May 11, 2014 - 8:37 pm

Ana, I’m glad you had a great time. Istanbul sounds like a great city! How convenient and picturesque to have streets and quarters dedicated to one thing, but I agree, there must be prices on display. I don’t mind haggling at markets, but at supermarkets I just want to grab what I want and get out of there without having to guess how much something costs and haggle for it. You made me very curious to visit the city, though. One day soon, hopefully!

Sounds like a book I need to read!

1. Have you ever had a bunk bed? Nope.

2. Have you ever shaved someone’s back? Ew, thank god no.

3. What shoes are you wearing today? My indoor boots 🙂 They’re flat and gray. Oh and comfy, very comfy.

4. Smokey or cat eyes? Smokey, for sure!

5. Do you like grey clothes? I do, but with a pop of color to brighten up the look.

Gio May 11, 2014 - 8:40 pm

Kiss & Make-up, I love your smokey looks! 😉

Icaria May 11, 2014 - 1:18 pm

I think I need that book! I really do!
1. No but I did sleep in one once and it felt real weird.
2. No and I don’t think I would be able to.
3. Flip flops in the house and probably sneekers later to do a little work outside.
4. I like both but find smokey is more forgiving for mistakes so I guess I do that a little more often, especially when having to put on my makeup super early in the morning. Sleepy hand Gio, sleepy hand.
5. Funny but yesterday I found a grey tunique that I had forgoten about (purchased about a month ago) and plan on getting either a scarf or necklace for a pop of color to go with it. 🙂

Gio May 11, 2014 - 8:42 pm

Icaria, I agree that smokey eyes are more forgiving for mistakes. I do not think I could do a cat eyes look early in the morning. That would be a recipe for disaster!

Tavia May 11, 2014 - 11:36 pm

1. Have you ever had a bunk bed? Not really. Me & my brother always wanted to have it when we were children but I did slept in one a couple of times when I was a student and lived in a dorm. 🙂
2. Have you ever shaved someone’s back? Never and I don’t even want to (think about it)
3. What shoes are you wearing today? I went out to buy a few things from a super market so I had my sneakers on. I always wear sneakers when I’m not meeting someone or I’m not going to some event. I life to feel comfortable.
4. Smokey or cat eyes? I love cat eyes (I’m not very good at lining that line) but I often wear smokey 🙂
5. Do you like grey clothes? Nope 🙂 I prefer black.

Gio May 12, 2014 - 11:29 am

Tavia, I agree. Cat eyes are beautiful, but so hard to do. I’m not that good at lining either. 🙂
