I was cleaning up my makeup stash the other day and I realised something: I have a lot more products from Rouge Bunny Rouge than I thought. Guess that’s what happens when you really dig a brand. You accumulate their stuff and don’t even know it!
That’s when I got the idea: I should write about the three Rouge Bunny Rouge products I’m too lazy to use every day. But I still keep them from special occasions because when I do use them, they help me take my makeup game to the next level.
I’m talking about the new Pristine Light Corrective Eye Primer and the oldies but goodies As If It Were Summer Still… Bronzing Glow Liquid and Prelude In The Clouds Aqua Primer:
Pristine Light Corrective Eye Primer
Can I just say I don’t feel this cushion applicator trend that’s popular atm?
It’s bad enough for the cheeks but why would you put a sponge applicator on an eyeshadow primer? So NOT hygienic. Sure, I could wash it after every use but let’s be honest now, who am I kidding? I’m too lazy to be bothered.
If you can be bothered, you’re gonna love this. Just remember to turn the head to the “on” position. No product will come out if it’s still set on “off”. 😉
Pristine Light Corrective Eye Primer is available in only one universal shade, Bare. It’s a light beige with a thick and creamy consistency that glides smoothly on the lid.
It’s a bit tacky but that’s a good thing. It means you can use it with glitter eyeshadows or pigments too. It’ll help them – and any other eyeshadow you use – better stick to your lids and intensifies their colour too.
I apply the colour with the sponge applicator and then blend it in with my fingers for best results. Then I swipe on the eyeshadows and head out the door. My eye makeup stays put all day.
If only they changed the applicator, I’d use it a lot more often!
As If It Were Summer Still… Bronzing Glow Liquid
Don’t you wish it were still summer? *sighs*
Well, the hot weather may have left till next year but there’s no need to sat goodbye to your tan, too. As If It Were Still Summer… Bronzing Glow Liquid can help you top up your tan.. without the sun damage. 😉
I admit I usually stick to powder bronzers but after trying this, I’ve become a liquid bronzer convert. I like it that I can just dab a few drops as a highlighter for a natural glow, apply it all over the face for a beautiful sunk-kissed look, or mix it with a primer or moisturiser for an even subtler, bronzed tan. I can even use it on my body for an all-over bronzed goddess look!
Because I’m so pale, I tend to either use it as a highlighter or mix it with the Aqua Primer for a special occasion. I just want the faintest hint of warmth on my face and a radiant dewy glow and this does the job well.
I love that the medium bronze colour stays bronze instead of turning my face into an orange like so many other bronzers do. Just saying…
The texture is very liquidy to the point of being runny – just another reason why I prefer to mix it with the primer. It’s infused with micro gold particles that make my face glisten under the sun.
I get around 8 hours of wear from this, a little longer when I use it with the primer. It’s definitely worth to check out if you’re trying to prolong that summer tan…
Prelude In The Clouds Aqua Primer
Talking about the Aqua Primer, don’t let the name fool you. It’s still a silicone-laden primer.
I don’t mind that in the least. Contrary to popular opinions, silicones don’t suffocate skin. Instead, they create a smooth canvas for your makeup, make your skin silky soft and fill in fine lines and wrinkles so they look smaller (for a while!). All things this primer does really well.
Its texture, though, feels like water. When you pump it out of the tube, the texture looks like a gel but as you go blend it out, it’s as sleek and weightless as water. It doesn’t leave that heavy feeling some primers do. I swear you don’t even feel you have it on.
It’s like you’ve applied nothing, only that your skin all of a sudden looks a lot more smoother. Wrinkles, large pores… all imperfections are softened. Your foundation and concealer will do the rest. 🙂
It’s not super hydrating, which is a good thing. It means it’s suitable for all skin types (but it doesn’t control oil so if you’re after a mattifying primer, this isn’t it).
And yes, it does make my foundation last all day. That makes me a happy bunny (see what I did there?).
