Name: Classic Eyeliner in Spotless White
Brand: Uma Cosmetics
Price: €0,98

From Uma Cosmetics’ website:
Velvety and long-lasting texture for pleasing contours and accentuated eyes.

What I liked:
– good colour payoff
– longlasting, even on the waterline
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– hard texture, doesn’t glide smoothly on the lid

Uma Cosmetics Classic Eyeliner in Spotless White was a last minute purchase. I was shopping on Kosmetik 4 Less, a German online shop that sells lots of European drugstore brands, such as Essence, Sleek Makeup, and Barry M. And Uma Cosmetics, a brand I had never heard of before.

But because the price was so cheap, I decided on a whim, just before hitting checkout, to add it to my cart, sure that I would regret it. After all, how good can a €0,98 eyeliner be? Quite good, as it turns out. Of course, the quality is not on par with more expensive eyeliners, such as Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils, or Pupa True Eyes Eyeliner, but if you are on a budget, this will do the job more than nicely.

The first thing that positively surprised me was the pigmentation. Spotless White is a true white with great colour payoff. I thought I would have to apply layer after layer to get the colour to show up decently, but nope. Just one coat did the trick.

I was then worried it would disappear quickly, but, again, I shouldn’t have been. The first time I used it, I didn’t bother with a primer, so imagine how surprised I was when, after 10 hours of wear, it was still there, intact. And nope, my lids aren’t dry. In fact, they’re somewhat oily. And this stuff stayed put anyway.

More impressively, it lasted a couple of hours on the waterline. I was very glad of this because, after all, that’s where a white eyeliner is most useful. Applied on the upper lashline, white doesn’t provide much definition, but on the waterline, it really opens up the eyes, making them look wider, awake and fresh (and Spotless White does this pretty well). Of course, I still had to reapply it a few times throughout the day, but at least it didn’t disappear within two minutes like most eyeliners do.

But, as it often happens when things seem too good to be true, there’s a catch. The texture is quite hard. While it doesn’t tug at your eyelids, it doesn’t really glide on all that smoothly either. The consistency is not creamy enough for that. But because, as I mentioned before, I use this mostly on the waterline, I don’t really mind too much. Still, it’s worth noting, as this is something that could put some people off.

Uma Cosmetics Classic Eyeliner in Spotless White has good colour payoff and excellent staying power, even on the waterline. However, the hard texture doesn’t glide smoothly on the lids.

I hate, hate, HATE when a pencil liner is super hard. Honestly, when I get one like that, I never use it in the end.

Trisha, they’re not that pleasant to use, are they? At least this one is not so hard that it tugs, and for the price, I can put up with it. But for many, I think the texture will be a dealbreaker.
