Name: Azione Termo-Attiva Conditioner
From Uniliver’s website:
The innovative technology ThermoActive activates with heat to repair and protect hair from the damage caused by heat from the blowdryer and styling tools. The conditioner reintegrates the proteins lost by the hair fibres, penetrating deep into hair, and reconstructing it.
What I liked:
– helps protect hair from heat damage
– makes hair soft and shiny
– after conditioning, hair is manageable and easy to style
– creamy consistency spreads evenly throughout hair
– delicious sweet scent
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– does what it says, but not better than other similar products on the market
– if you don’t like to use silicones on your hair, this is not for you
Last month, I reviewed Sunsilk Azione Termo-Attiva Shampoo, a shampoo that promises to protect hair from heat damage, but doesn’t really deliver much. I had much higher hopes for the conditioner in the same line, because this type of product usually contains a bigger amount of silicones and moisturizing ingredients that benefit hair and none, or very little, of the surfactants that remove them (or a part of them at least) from hair during washing.
I know that silicones have got a bad rep, but it’s thanks to them that most heat protectant products work. Silicones, such as Dimethicone (the main ingredient in this conditioner), form a waterproof barrier on the hair that locks moisture in and reduces the damage done by blow dryers and styling tools. They also allow your comb to glide through your hair more easily, thus reducing breakage, and makes it shiny too.
Dimethicone is the heaviest of the silicones, and the hardest to wash out. It can build up on your hair overtime, but, to prevent that, it’s just necessary to wash it with a well-formulated sulfate shampoo. If you still dislike using silicones, you’ll be happy to know that any product that conditions hair will offer some protection from heat.
After conditioning my hair with Sunsilk Azione Termo-Attiva Conditioner and blowdrying my hair, my locks were soft and shiny. The heat didn’t visibly damage my hair, but, on the other hand, I can’t say that this conditioner works better than other similar products on the market. It does what it is supposed to do, and well, but no so well to make it stand out as a miracle worker. And that’s fine with me.
The conditioner, which is white in colour, has a light and creamy consistency that’s easy to spread evenly throughout hair. And it smells gorgeous! Just like that of the shampoo, it’s sweet, cherry-like, and longlasting. It stays with you for most of the day.

Sunsilk Azione Termo-Attiva Shampoo helps protect hair from heat damage, leaving it soft, shiny, and easy to comb through. It works thanks to a bunch of silicones, which may put some people off.
