Name: Rouge Bunny Rouge
Brand: Sea Of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea Of Clouds
Size: 30ml
Price: €41.00

From Rouge Bunny Rouge’s website:
The tiny reflective particles will illuminate you anywhere you choose. This multipurpose water-based fluid blends easily with moisturiser, or with foundation, to customise the look – to yours alone. Create an inside-out illumination effect and blend it to a thin, refined wash of pearls. Light fragrance of Cucumber with a touch of Peach Flower will add to your application pleasure.

What I liked:
– gives skin a natural fresh and dewy look
– smooth texture glides easily on the skin
– quick and easy to apply
– versatile, can be used alone, on top of makeup, and mixed with foundation or moisturizer
– pigmented
– longlasting
– a little goes a looong way

What I didn’t like:
– if, like me, you don’t like the scent of cucumber, you may not enjoy its fragrance
– the price

One of my favourite tricks to achieve that gorgeous fresh, dewy look is to dab some highlighter on those areas of the face where the sun naturally hits it. Like your temples, your cheekbones, and the bridge of your nose.

My new favourite highlighter is Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea Of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea Of Clouds. I’m almost sad to love it so much because this stuff costs a whopping €41.00! Ouch! But it does outperform all the other highlighters I’ve tried so far, including my previous favourite Benefit High Beam.

While High Beam gives a very similar effect, it requires more blending. Sea Of Clouds, instead, applies effortlessly in just a few seconds. The consistency is silky smooth, so it glides easily on the skin, and it’s just impossible to overdo. Although pigmented, it is infused with tiny, fine shimmers that give a very natural but brightening glow to your face.

Described as “moonlight on the water”, Sea Of Clouds is a white and very versatile shade. It can be used on its own, on top of your makeup, or mixed with your favourite foundation and moisturizer for an overall subtle glow. However you use it, the result is always the same. Fresh, bright, dewy skin from morning to night. No kidding. Unless you manually remove it, this stuff doesn’t budge.

As you need only a couple of drops at a time, the 30ml tube will last for a long time too. I have only tried a small sample in a jar and, despite me using it almost daily in the last couple of weeks, I barely made a dent. That’s a very good thing considering how pricey Sea Of Clouds is.

Apart from the price, there’s only another thing I don’t like about it: the scent. It’s a mix of cucumber and peach flower, and smells fresh and subtle. I just don’t like the aroma of cucumber much, but if you do, you will enjoy it. If not, no worries. Once on the skin, you won’t be able to smell it anyway.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea Of Illumination Highlighting Liquid In Sea Of Clouds is a white, pigmented, and smooth highlighter that’s quick and easy to blend and provides a natural, fresh, and dewy look. Very versatile, it lasts all day.

Wow, this looks beautiful! I’ve really gotten into highlighters since I love blushes and wanted that extra glow sometimes. I’ve been curious about this brand for a while! ‘Moonlight on water’ sounds so beautifully accurate.

Janessa, I love their descriptions. They are as beautiful as their shades. I really love the glow this one gives.
