Name: Posietint
Brand: Benefit
Size: 12.5ml
Price: $30.00

From Benefit’s website:
This poppy-pink tinted stain brightens cheeks & lips with a cheery flush and natural finish. Kiss-proof & nuzzle-proof, the liquid-gel formula blends to just-picked perfection on all complexions and lasts for hours.

What I liked:
– provides a natural and healthy flush to the cheeks
– provides that my-lips-but-better look
– sheer and easily buildable
– easy to blend
– lasts long on the cheeks

What I didn’t like:
– feels drying on the lips
– one coat on the lips doesn’t survive a snack
– dark damsels may have to apply several layers for it to show up properly on their cheeks
– you need to blend it quickly to avoid a patchy application

Have I just been very unlucky or do lip and cheek stains seem to work well only for one thing (usually as blush) and fall short on the other (lip stain)? Case in point, Benefit Posietint. This sheer pink shade looks so fresh and lovely on the cheeks. One coat provides a barely-there, healthy flush, perfect to complement no-makeup makeup looks or a more intense eye looks.

But if you prefer a bolder hue, you can easily build it up. Just do so quickly. Like all stains, this stuff sets in less than a minute. You need to blend fast, either with your fingers (my favourite option) or a stippling brush, to avoid a patchy application. Because once set, Posietint just doesn’t budge. I don’t even have to set it with powder, but then my cheeks are dry, not oily.

Posietint looks lovely on the lips too. It’s a sheer, my-lips-but-better shade with a slightly shiny finish. But if you apply only one coat, it won’t last you that long. You need at least three if you want it to survive a meal. Unless you don’t mind reapplying it afterwards.

But that’s not the reason why I rarely use this stuff on the lips. Although the liquid-gel texture is lightweight and non-sticky, it is also drying. You can’t wear this without either applying a lip balm underneath or a moisturizing gloss on top. It’d just feel too uncomfortable.

I have mixed feelings on the packaging too. The pink tube is adorable. If it looks tiny in my photos, it is because mine is. I have a small sample, which was part of a holiday set my friend Janessa gave me. The full size is bigger, and will last you a while. But it’s the applicator I’m not too keen on. I don’t really like using the same one for cheeks and lips. If that bothers you too, just use a brush to pick up the product instead.

Benefit Positeint is a sheer, but easily buildable, petal pink stain for cheeks and lips. Easy to apply, it provides a sheer hint of colour that lasts for ages on the cheeks. On the lips, it feels drying, and lasting power is shorter too.

I like the color but I definitely don’t like products that dry out my lips:/ And I love your eyeshadow on this photo, which one is that?:)

Helena, I don’t like it when lip products are drying either. But at least this works well on the cheeks.

That’s Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked In Pink. 🙂

I think one of the biggest faults I’ve read with this is the blending, it can appear patchy etc. Not the best for me.

Xuvious, I didn’t experience any patching, but then I’m a fast blender. If you’re not quick at applying it, I guess it could turn out patchy.
