Name: Ultra Glazewear in Tangerine Gleam
Brand: Avon
Size: 6ml
Price: $4.00

From Avon’s website:
Super-shiny gloss with a vibrant, rich colour to help lips glisten in every light.
Wrapped in shea butter for a deeply moisturised, perfectly glossy pout – without the stickiness.

What I liked:
– buildable colour payoff and shiny finish
– brightens up the complexion
– quite hydrating, non-sticky texture
– good staying power
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– if you have dry lips, this won’t be moisturizing enough for you

I love orange-based shades, but the feeling isn’t always mutual. It’s hard for me to find one that suits my complexion and doesn’t make me look like I’m ill or something. But for both me and Tangerine Gleam, one of the 23 shades in the Avon Ultra Glazewear range (which was sent to me by the lovely Tine; thank you!), it was love at first swipe.

Tangerine Gleam is a warm and shiny tangerine orange shade that’s vibrant enough to brighten up the complexion, but tame enough to be wearable even for work. Colour payoff is buildable, so you can decide how to wear it. One swipe delivers a soft but bright wash of colour, while two, as you can see in the swatch below, a more intense look. You can also use it on top of your favourite orange/red/coral lippie to give it some shine.

The gloss is easy to apply thanks to its standard doe foot applicator. Its smooth texture doesn’t feel sticky or tacky on the lips, but provides some hydration to keep your lips soft for three hours or so (although, if you have dry lips I recommend you still use a lip balm underneath).

Three hours is also how long the colour will last on your lips before completely fading. That’s if you don’t eat or drink, of course. Even a light meal will help the gloss disappear faster. A proper meal, it can’t survive. But that’s ok. Most glosses only last a couple of hours on my lips, so I’m quite chuffed with the staying power of Tangerine Gleam.

And did I mention it has a delicious sweet scent? Not the usual vanilla one, though. There is a hint of it, but it smells more like cupcakes, although, thankfully, it is really subtle. As much as I love cupcakes, I do prefer my lip products not to be strongly scented. That always puts me off.

Summary
Avon Ultra Glazewear In Tangerine Gleam is a bright, yet wearable shade, that brightens up the face. Its non-sticky, quite moisturizing texture lasts about 3 hours on the lips.

Lovely shade! I am in the mood for an orange lippie but I haven’t found one yet. I noticed that this Avon gloss is available at Amazon. Duh, I never thought of that. I don’t have a local Avon lady so I haven’t really gotten into their products lately. Good idea.

Allison, it’s very pretty, isn’t it? I usually stay away from orange shades cos they tend to make me look sick, but this one is perfect. It just makes my face looks brighter and fresh. And is amazon amazing? You can find everything there! 😉
