QOTW: Do You Like Multitasking Products?

Do you like multitasking products?

My answer: I have a love/hate relationship with them. I love it when a product can be used for more than one purpose, but unfortunately it’s hard to find one that can really multitask. A lot of lip and cheek tints for instance work great as blushes but are too drying for the lips, 2 in 1 shampoos cleanse well but don’t condition enough… So in the end, I usually prefer to buy great single purpose products.

I’d say not really because of the items you’ve stated above. I remember when they came out with Pert 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. The product left my hair stringy .. not really clean and certainly not conditioned.

Monica, what a fail! Most 2 in 1 products do well at least one thing, but to fail at both is really bad…

I agree with you, Gio. Especially about the lip/cheek products. Way better on the cheek.

Trisha, I agree. I have yet to find a cheek and lip stain that works well on the lips.

I don’t like 2 in 1 products for the same reason as you especially things like shampoo/shower gel 2 in 1. Talk about stripping your hair! I think the only thing that can be multi-purpose are beauty balms that can be used on the face and body. What do you think?

Annabella, I agree. Some beauty balms can work very well both on the face and body. I wish there were more products like that.

You know what? I agree with you, I used to love 2-in1 products like crazy but come to think of it, even if I use 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, I still follow up with a separate conditioner. Same with lip and cheek tints, I just use them on cheeks! Well some of the good 2-in-1 products I use are probably..hmm…multiple function-in-1 are BB creams 😀 I can get away without foundation using those 😀

Nikki, I think a lot of people love the idea of 2-in-1 products because they are supposed to make you save time and money. But when you test them, they are often disappointing. Luckily, there are some multitasking products out there that do what they’re supposed to, but I wish they were easier to find. 🙂

The same as you – in theory they’re great and I’d love to find a true multitasker, but I’d rather just buy two good single-task products.

Ana, I agree. Most multitasking products sadly don’t deliver and so it’s better to invest in two good single purpose products. 🙂

I usually prefer separate products that perform really well by itself. Multi-tasking products I do like are highlighting blushes or glossy lipsticks but those don’t truly count as multitasking. 😛 Highlighter blushes just have shimmer or sheen and are often lighter, paler, or sheerer in color which is really great for days when I’m in a rush and need some fool-proof color on my cheeks.

Janessa, I love highlighting blushes for the same reason you mentioned. Otherwise, I agree that it’s better to buy two separate products that works well rather than a multitasking one that performs only so-so.
