The Best Way To Boost Your Blonde

Remember last week when we talked about how to prevent blonde highlights from fading too soon? I promised you I’d tell you how to boost the blonde too. Cos preventing fading is all well and good, but why not go the extra mile if you can?

Well, it’s time to keep that promise. Here’s my secret:

Pro:Voke Liquid Blonde Colour Activating Treatment Shampoo & Conditioner.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. These types of hair care products don’t work. Normally, I’d agree with you and won’t even waste my time with them.

But, after putting these to the test, I’m actually seeing some decent results. For real.

Colour Activating Treatment Shampoo

Let’s start with shampoo cos who applies conditioner first?

So, the shampoo is a gorgeous caramel colour, but it doesn’t smell like caramel (removes the temptation to eat it lol). The scent is still gorgeous, so it still makes my hair smell good.

I’m not sure how it does it, but I’ve noticed that after every use my blonde highlights look that little bit blonder and my hair is shinier too. And this just by using the shampoo (most of the time, I don’t bother with conditioner, ahem).

Oh, it cleanses hair well too. Sodium laureth sulfate and cocamidopropyl betaine take care of that. They allow water to mix with oil and dirt so they’re easy to remove. They’re also gentler enough not to strip that much colour from my hair.

The shampoo may do an impressive job on its own, but it works even better when paired with the conditioner. This one is a honey yellow in colour and has a lightweight consistency that spreads smoothly without weighing hair down.

It may be enriched with some natural oils, but they’re not the ones that do the dirty work. That is down to cetearyl alcohol, cetrimonium chloride and behentrimonium chloride. These scary chemicals are very safe and do a great job at conditioning and detangling hair. They help fight static too.

The conditioner helps me detangle my super knotty hair (why do you think I always keep it so short?) and makes it easier to style. And the high-gloss finish it gives my highlights helps them look blonder too.

Finally, a range for coloured hair that does what it’s supposed to!

That’s a really good price! I had some blonde in my hair this summer but I’ve dyed it back to a light brown on the bottom. 🙂

Janessa, it is especially for something that works this well. 🙂

Blonde highlights are so summery, aren’t they?
