Name: Beautifying Blush in Flushed
Brand: Sonia Kashuk
Price: $9.79

From Sonia Kashuk’s website:
This powder blush will give you a natural, luminous flush and a radiant appearance. Supreme wear and advanced comfort; this powder leaves a perfectly even and ultra-smooth finish

What I liked:
– provides a natural flush and radiant glow to the complexion
– sheer colour payoff, makes application easier
– texture is soft to the touch and easy to blend
– longlasting
– cute packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– if you like pigmented blushes, this is not for you
– if you apply too much, the shimmers become quite obvious

I never appreciated blush enough when I was younger. I remember the first time I tried it. I was about 15 and I had bought a random blush (I think it was a pink one from L’Oreal) to practice with at home. I sat in front of the mirror, grabbed my brush, picked up the product and happily swept it on my cheeks. And then I cringed. Staring back at me in the mirror was a clown.

It looked so bad that I wondered whether I really needed blush after all, and quickly decided that no, I didn’t. I thought I could do without it and, for the next few years, I looked washed out and ghostly. People constantly asked me if I was sick. Overtime, I plucked up the courage to try blush again but I stuck only to shades that looked very pale and tame in the pan. Something like Sonia Kashuk Beautifying Blush in Flushed (sent me by my friend Janessa) would have scared me to bits.

And what a shame would that have been! Flushed isn’t just beautiful, but also not as scary as it looks in the pan. A bright, blue-based pink infused with shimmers that looks particularly flattering on fair and cool-toned ladies, Flushed has sheer colour payoff. Although it is easy to build up, I wouldn’t recommend you apply too much or you may end up sparkling just a bit more than you’d like. A light application, on the other hand, gives a colourful pop of colour and a radiant glow to the complexion.

Flushed has a lovely texture that feels soft to the touch and blends like a dream. On my dry cheeks, it easily lasts from morning till evening, with only very minimal fading. Overall, I’m very impressed with this blush. It’s cheap, works very well and even the circular packaging looks cute (although I think it would look more chic if it were black, don’t you think?), which is not always the case at this price point.

Sonia Kashuk Beautifying Blush in Flushed is a sheer and bright pink shade that provides a natural and radiant flush to the complexion that lasts for hours. However, don’t apply it generously or the shimmers will make you sparkle a bit too much.

This is pretty, though the shade seems really ’80s/’90s to me. Then again, maybe that’s cool now?

Trisha, it has a retro vibe indeed. But it looks very pretty on. 🙂
