Product Review: Sleek Makeup Caribbean Collection Curacao Eyeshadow Palette

Name: Caribbean Collection Curacao I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette
Brand: Sleek Makeup
Size: 12×1.1g
Price: £6.49

From Sleek’s website:
Embrace the exotic colours of paradise with the 12 shades of the Curacao i-Divine. From deep sea blue’s to zesty oranges and vivid coral’s, create endless striking looks using contrasting shades or make an entrance with an effortless sweep of colour.

What I liked:
– beautiful mix of bold and bright shades
– very pigmented
– easy to blend
– longlasting
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– Blue Hawaiian is very sheer
– a few shades are a bit powdery
– if you don’t like bright shades this is not for you

If you are into bright and bold shades then you just have to get the new Sleek Makeup I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in Curacao, part of the summer LE Caribbean Collection. It contains 12 fun and vibrant eyeshadows with a tropical and holiday vibe. I also like that finally all the eyeshadows have names. Those in this palette are named after cocktails. I don’t drink but that, together with the fun shades, makes me feel like I’m on holiday. But let’s examine the shades one by one, shall we?

Green Martini: one of my favourite shades in this palette, it is a beautiful and very pigmented khaki green shade with golden shimmers. It is a bit powdery though.
Purple Haze: a pretty matte true purple.
Green Iguana: another favourite of mine (I just love greens lol), it’s a stunning teal green with a slight metallic finish.
Screwdriver: a bright lemon yellow.
Bloody Mary: a matte, true red eyeshadow with buildable pigmentation.
Blue Hawaiian: this is the only shade that disappointed me. A light blue shade, it is very sheer.

Martini: a subtle but pigmented champagne shade with a pearly finish that’s perfect for highlighting the browbone. I absolutely adore it.
Tequila Sunrise: a very pigmented and bright orange with a metallic finish. It is a bit powdery.
Apres Midori: a bright green with yellow undertones with a pearly finish.
Blue Lagoon: a pigmented and matte bright blue shade.
Singapore Sling: a bright fuchsia with a pearly finish.
Espresso Martini: a medium black shade with a matte finish.

All the eyeshadows, with the exception of Blue Hawaiian which is the only shade with poor pigmentation, are very pigmented. The matte eyeshadows are less pigmented than the others, but overall their color payoff is still very good. They are also very easy to apply and blend like a dream. A couple of shades are a bit powdery so a bit of fallout can occur but they are so pigmented, soft and easily blendable that I can easily ignore it. In addition, they are fairly longlasting on the lids, but if yours are oily I would still recommend wearing a primer underneath.

The palette comes in a pretty box with a boat and palm design which just captures the Caribbean theme of the collection really well, don’t you think? I also like that the palette, which comes with a huge mirror and a dual-ended sponge applicator, has its name written both on its top and bottom so you can easily spot it among your other Sleek Makeup palettes. 🙂

Available at: Superdrug stores throughout the UK

Summary
Sleek Makeup Caribbean Collection Curacao Eyeshadow Palette contains 12 bright and fun eyeshadows shades in different finishes. Apart from Blue Hawaiian, all the shades are very pigmented (the matte shades slightly less than the rest), soft, easily blendable and longlasting. A couple of them are a bit powdery and prone to fallout but nothing major. A great buy for those that are into bright eyeshadows while natural lovers may probably want to avoid it.

I wanted this palette so much, but both Superdrug and Sleek really make me very disappointed!!!!

Yesterday was supposed to be the official launch date but when I went to Superdrug yesterday, there were only testers for this palette and Aruba blush and only 1 product of the pout polish for sale. Then, the staff told me to call up this morning and they told me from their computer system that there were 2 of each palette and blush. So I told them to hold the palette and blush for me as it always take me almost an hour to get to their store. Then when got there, they told me that their computer system now showed ZERO for both products!!! This is really Ridiculous, a stupid joke and complete waste of my time and money spent on calling them and on my transportation to their store! I will be in contact with their customer service soon.

And I hope someone from Sleek is reading this too!!!!

Sorry, gio, for the previous long comment.

I really like the palette and the blush and so looking forward to purchase them, such ‘good’ marketing and business plan they have, both Sleek and Superdrug!! And thus inconveniencing the customers. I posted some comments on their (Sleek) Facebook page of what happened and they did not reply!!!

But the staff at Superdrug today was very helpful and got me in touch with their customer service.

Sorry for spamming again.

What’s the point of Sleek publicizing the Caribbean collection so much when only a selected get to have them?

Vonvon, no need to apologize. I too would be pretty upset in your shoes. I think they are both to blame. Sleek should have sent them more palettes, cos only 2 is ridiculous honestly. But it was very wrong of the Superdrug staff to assure you they would reserve the products for you and not keeping their word! Especially since you had to travel so far to reach the shop. At least their staff was helpful. Sleek staff can be a bit slow at replying sometimes but I’m sure they will do their best to help you out. And I really hope they will send more palettes to Superdrug so everyone can get them.

Love the three (or four, if you count the teal) shades of green!

o.O omg this is the brightest palette ever. I love it, especially for that price! Green Iguana and Tequila Sunrise are my faves.

Makeup Morsels, it really is! The colors are super bright and so fun! Those are two of my favourites too, they are so pretty and pigmented!

I can’t wait to see a make up with this palette! If it contained a duochrome shade I ‘d have bought it. The design is cute, to be honest, but I’m asking myself why Sleek don’t print the designs directly to the black palette cover. Maybe you could ask them… It doesn’t make any sense to me, to be honest. 🙂

Mylanqolia, looks with this palette are coming soon. 😉 That would be such a great idea! The design on the boxes is pretty, it would really spice up the palettes too. Maybe it’s too expensive to do? Hopefully they’ll read this and take note eheh…

O_o the shades are so so bright! dont think i am able to pull them off at all ..

Xin, this can be a scary palette especially since there aren’t any neutral shades in it… It’s a gorgeous palette but not really for those that aren’t very adventurous with their eyeshadows or lovers of the natural look.

I love this bright color , it looks so much fun but I have to use up my 88 matt eyeshadow palette first XD
Thank you for the review 🙂

Adia, that’s why I didn’t get that palette, cos I couldn’t justify getting more eyeshadows otherwise lol. 🙂 This is a beautiful and fun palette, I love it.
