From Senna’s website:
Eyeshadow: beautiful light reflective finish gives buildable coverage that can be soft on the eyes or richly intense.
Blush: this velvety smooth powder tints cheeks with soft and sheer color.
Lipstick: this creamy cushion lipstick formula is velvety smooth, hydrating and comfortable with maximum color impact and long lasting wear.
Lipgloss: this moist and smooth vanilla flavored lipgloss formula applies high shine and color.
What I liked:
– eyeshadows have good colour payoff and blend easily with no fallout
– blush has great colour payoff, provides a longlasting matte pop of colour to the cheeks that doesn’t look flat
– lipsticks have great and longlasting colour payoff, glide smoothly on the lips, don’t dry them out
– lipglosses have nice colour payoff that lasts for hours and feel comfortable on the lips
What I didn’t like:
– the texture of Coppertine feels gritty to the touch
– if you have pale skin, the blush may be too pigmented for you
– although they’re not drying, the lipsticks aren’t particularly moisturizing either
– lipglosses are slightly sticky
Rich reds, intoxicating berries, gilded bronzes and reddish coppers. Senna Midnight Wine collection perfectly captures the colours and mood of the season. The collection features two eyeshadows, one blush, two lipsticks and three lipglosses to create subtle looks for the day that can easily be intensified for a night out.
Let’s start with the eyeshadows. Senna Eye Color in Coppertina is a light and warm copper shade infused with gold shimmers. Although it’s not sheer, it provides only a soft wash of colour when applied on bare lids. For a more intense colour payoff, use it with a primer. Because of the shimmers, the texture feels a bit gritty, but is still very easy to blend.
Cordovan is a reddish brown shade with gold shimmers. It’s more intense that Coppertina even without a primer, although I still recommend you use one because, without, you only get about 7 hours of wear. With a base, instead, both colours will last much longer. Cordovan too is very easy to blend, but its texture is much creamier and smoother. And in case you’re worried about fallout, you’ll be happy to know I didn’t experience any.
The Sheer Face Color in Moonberry is not sheer at all. A matte dark wine berry shade, it has great colour payoff, which is great for dark-skinned damsels, but can be quite scary for pale princesses like me. With a shade like this, they could easily end up looking like a clown. Luckily, the Senna Powder Point 33 Brush comes to the rescue. This brush has a pointed tip that picks up only a tiny amount of powder, allowing you to build up the shade gradually until you reach the desired intensity.
Darker-skinned ladies, on the other hand, will be able to apply it with either a fluffy or a stippling brush, depending on how intense they want the colour to be. Its velvety-soft texture is easy to blend and provides a dark pop of colour to the cheeks that’s very autumnal. It’s perfect for this time of the year. Although matte, it has a subtle sheen that prevents it from looking dull. On my dry cheeks, it lasts for about 10 hours.
Senna Cream Lipstick in Ruby is just as pigmented. A dark reddish wine shade, it is opaque in just one swipe. It’s a very bold and autumnal shade that’s more flattering on ladies with medium and dark skintones, but fair skinned beauties could pull it off too. Just apply it with a lip brush rather than directly from the tube. This way, you’ll be able to control the intensity of the colour and will avoid making mistakes during application.
The other shade in the collection is Beautiful Bronze. It is a golden bronze shade with a metallic finish and great colour payoff. This too is opaque in one coat, but is less intense, and therefore easier to pull off, than Ruby. But just like Ruby, it is more flattering on women with a tanned or darker complexion. However, it is chock full of shimmers that are a pain to remove! But don’t they make the lippie look gorgeous on the lips?
Just like Ruby, Beautiful Bronze too feels comfortable on the lips, although neither is as creamy as the name implies. Their texture is creamy, just not particularly moisturizing. Yet, they glide smoothly on the lips, don’t dry them out, don’t settle in fine lines and last about 4 hours on the lips (slightly less if you have a light snack).
Finally, the lipglosses. We all know by now that Senna Lip Lacquers are on the sticky side. Nothing too uncomfortable, just a bit gloopy. However, that’s the price to pay for staying power and these glosses stay put for up to 4 hours (longer if you don’t eat) and are able to withstand even a light snack. That’s not a bad deal, if you ask me.
Mulberry is my favourite shade. It is a pinkish mauve shade with a very glossy finish. It has good colour payoff but it’s not fully opaque. It just tints your lips, allowing just a hint of your natural colour to show through. Blush Wine is a semi-opaque rose shade with peachy undertones and lots of shimmers. It provides a touch of natural colour and intense shine. Like Mulberry, it’s a great shade for everyday, natural looks.
The last shade is called Leather. It looks like a dark chocolate brown in the tube. But on the lips, it turns into a sheerer, more wearable brown shade with a very shiny finish. This is another shade that looks better on darker-skinned beauties, but ladies with a fair skintone can wear it too.
Overall, this is a great collection for fall. Although most of the products are more suitable for darker skintones, there are enough sheer and buildable shades that pale princesses will appreciate too. And, of course, they can also try the bolder ones, if they feel adventurous!

Senna Midnight Wine Collection features pigmented and longlasting products in bold and buildable shades that are more flattering on darker damsels, but can look good on pale princesses too. The eyeshadows have great colour payoff and are easy to blend, but Coppertine feels gritty to the touch. The blush has a velvety texture that blends like a dream but, because of how pigmented it is, it needs to be used with a light hand. Although not particularly moisturizing, the lipsticks are creamy, pigmented and longlasting. The glosses last long too but that’s because they are a bit sticky.
