From Pretty And Cute’s website:
My Beauty Diary Platinum + Pearl Lift Stretch Mask delivers the power of two marine and mineral skin care elements. Contains skin brightening pearl extract and moisture locking platinum properties. Clarifies and brightens skin with natural fruit ingredients such as lemon, orange, and kiwi. These fruit ingredients first remove layers of dead cells, allowing the absorption of the pearl and platinum serum later. Reveals more radiant and brighter skin tone. Made of Japanese-imported multi-layer, cotton sheet that can hold additional nutrients and moisture. The use of nano-technology makes the cotton sheet ultra soft and adheres closer to the skin, so nutrients can be effectively delivered without running off.
What I liked:
– the mask comes with ear holes and an extension for the neck, stays in place well
– fairly hydrating, leaves skin soft and smooth
– makes skin feel firmer and look brighter
– stretchy material, doesn’t break easily
– cute packaging
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– because the mask is infused with 28ml of product, some of it may still be left on the face when you take it off
– not moisturizing enough for dry skin
– its effects are, obviously, only temporary
Every now and then, I like to pamper my skin with a hydrating and brightening face mask. Problem is, they often tend to fall off if you move around. How annoying is that? Luckily, Taiwanese brand My Beauty Diary has come up with a nifty solution. Their Platinum + Pearl Lift Stretch Mask, which was sent me by my friend Tine (thank you so much hun!), features two ear holes.
You unfold the mask, which is huge by the way, and hook the holes onto your ears, stretching it well and fully over your face and ensuring it stays in place, even if you move. But that’s not all. It also comes with an “extension” under the chin area that allows you to care for the upper neck as well! How cool is that?
Of course, the mask won’t be a perfect fit for everyone, but that’s to be expected. It’s impossible to create a one-size-fits-all mask, but at least this one pampers a much larger area of the face and neck than most masks do, clings well onto the skin and allows you to comfortably move around. Plus, the material is stretchy and not too thin, so it doesn’t rip easily. That’s pretty impressive for a mask, isn’t it? But does it perform well too?
The mask must be applied to a clean face for about 15-20 minutes, although you can leave it on for a bit longer, so that the serum with which it is infused has time to sink in properly. And even then, it’s unlikely that your skin will absorb it all. The mask, in fact, contains a whopping 28ml of serum! I could still feel the residue on my face after I took it off, but thankfully, it wasn’t too greasy.
The mask contains Glycerine, a humectant that moisturizes skin by attracting water from the environment into it, and Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, which has soothing properties and can help reduce inflammation. In addition, the formula includes a bunch of citrus extracts (lemon and orange) that provide a very mild exfoliating action. These extracts can be irritating for the skin, so it’s good that they’re used here only in small quantities. Still, if you have very sensitive skin, you may want to skip it, just in case,
When I finally took the mask off, I noticed that my skin was very soft and smooth, and well-moisturized (although I don’t think it is moisturizing enough for dry skin) Plus, my skin felt firmer and looked a bit brighter too. But, of course, the effects were only temporary. You’ll have to use the mask daily to see any significant improvements. But even occasional use has its benefits. If you have a special occasion to go to, this mask will give your skin a much-needed boost of moisture and a subtle glow.

My Beauty Diary Platinum + Pearl Lift Stretch Mask comes with ear holes and an extension for the neck, allowing you to secure the mask in place firmly and to cover a huge area of the face. Made of a stretchy, not-too-thin material, it doesn’t break easily. The mask leaves skin soft, smooth, firmer and a bit brighter, but its effects are only temporary. People with dry skin may not find it moisturizing enough.
