What I liked:
– nice color
– doesn’t smudge
– the packaging
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– not very pigmented, but the color can be built up
After I introduced my mum to Max Factor Creme Puff Compact, she became really interested in the brand and purchased a few more items, including a Colour Collections lipstick.
These lipsticks are available in 26 shades, categorised according to different skintones: fair, medium and dark. My mum has pale skin, although not as ghostly-pale as me, so she choose #680, Bronzed Glow, which is suited for fair complexions.
Bronzed Glow looks, in the tube, a brownish/bronzy shade with a sheen finish that applies quite sheerly but can layered on for more intensity. The texture is creamy and quite moisturizing, esp for a drugstore lippie.
The lipstick didn’t smudge nor bleed even without using a lip liner underneath. But the thing that really surprised me about it was the staying power, which is pretty good for a lip product. It lasted for a few hours and the color, albeit faint, was still there even after I had dinner!
I like the packaging too. The lipstick comes in a sleek black tube, which I think is quite pretty.
Overall, Max Factor Color Collection is a really good lipstick. It is quite moisturizing, longlasting and available in lots of difference shades. The color payoff is ok: it is quite sheer but can be built up.
