When I came across I Provenzali Shea Butter Lip Balm, I thought the search for my HG lip balm was over. This lip balm does everything it should: it’s very moisturizing, has excellent staying power and doesn’t feel sticky on the lips. But now, thanks to the lovely Annabella of Skin Scrubs, I’ve found one that’s just as good, if not better: Haus Of Gloi Gingersnap Lip Balm.

First off, the scent: it’s delicious! The ginger is not too strong, and it still has a subtle effervescent quality to it, which is balanced by a sweet cookie note that will make your mouth water. But if ginger ain’t your thing, you can opt for one of the other flavours available: Butter Pecan, Caramel Apple, Peach Milk and Spun Sugar. Don’t they all sound very tempting?

The texture is just right: it’s smooth and creamy, but not so much to crush on the lips when you apply it. It goes on smoothly, leaving lips soft, moisturized and shiny for hours. The lip balm gets its very moisturizing properties from Shea Butter, a substance obtained by the seed of the karite tree that contains a high amount of fatty acids, and Coconut Oil. Obtained from the kernels of coconut, this oil too is rich in vitamins and moisturizing fatty alcohols.

The shiny finish is instead due to Castor Oil. This lip balm acts as a great base for lipstick/gloss and is effective at treating and preventing chapped lips. And because it lasts for hours on the lips, I don’t have to reapply it often throughout the day. If it contained SPF too, it’d be perfect! Oh, a small note about the packaging. The sleek black tube is labelled with a sticker that looks edgy and cool, but came off really easily. I know it’s a small thing, but I thought I’d mention it.

Virgin cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, candelilla (euphorbia cerifera ) wax, punica granatum linn (pomegranate) seed oil, caprylic/capric/stearic glycerides, cymbidium grandiflorum (orchid) flower extract, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, flavor oil, tocopherol (vitamin E)

Summaryhas Of Gloi Gingersnap Lip Balm is very moisturizing, leaving lips soft, smooth and conditioned for hours. The sweet and not too strong ginger scent is very pleasant too.

Hooray! I’m going to look into their website. Their products are so affordable and this review has me intrigued.

:] Thanks for explaining why the product works the way it does, with which ingredients. I want to try all the flavors, they sound scrumptious.

Janessa, their products are amazing! There are so many flavours and products that it’s really hard to choose what to get. I highly recommend the pumpking body butters, and the lip balms are great too.
