Name: Fresh Essentials Eye Make-up Remover
From Garnier’s website:
It is suitable for contact lens wearers and sensitive eyes. It removes eye make-up, even waterproof, whilst respecting the delicate eye contour area.
What I liked:
– formula feels refreshing on the skin
– doesn’t leave a greasy residue behind
– gentle, doesn’t irritate eyes
– removes subtle and natural looks easily
What I didn’t like:
– doesn’t remove waterproof or longlasting products
– packaging is not very practical
I love applying makeup, but taking it off at the end of the day is such a chore! So, I’m always looking for a makeup remover that does the job as quickly, but as gently, as possible. Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-up Remover, which has a delicate formula that promises to remove even waterproof makeup, seems just what I need. But does it deliver?
Sadly, no. The water-based formula feels very refreshing on the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy residue behind, but it only easily takes off a subtle daytime look. Eyeshadows and non-waterproof eyeliners are quickly removed, but when tackling regular mascara, it starts to struggle.
I haven’t tried it with waterproof mascaras yet as I know it just won’t take them off without tugging and pulling. A big of tugging, and quite a lot of product, are already necessary to remove intense smokey eyes. With waterproof and longlasting products, it just can’t cope.
On the plus side, though, the makeup remover is really gentle and doesn’t irritate your eyes nor blurs your vision. It is thus suitable even for contact lenses wearers or people with very sensitive eyes who like simple and natural looks. As delicate as the formula is, you may still experience some irritation if you need to tug to try and remove what it can’t.
Finally, a note on the packaging. I like the simple and sleek green bottle, which emphasizes the freshness of the formula. Unfortunately, its opening is quite big, which makes it difficult to control the amount of product that comes out of it. It’s a common problem with the packaging of most Garnier products, and one I wish they’d address soon.
Water, PEG-7 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Poloxamer 184, Poloxamer 124, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Polysorbate 80, Benzyl Salycilate, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Methylparaben, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Apple Fruit Water, Tetrasodium EDTA, Grape Fruit Water, Fragrance
Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-up Remover is a refreshing and delicate makeup removers that easily takes off subtle and delicate eye makeup looks without irritating the eyes. However, it can’t cope with waterproof and longlasting products.
