– the packaging

What I didn’t like:
– a bit tacky to the touch
Recently, I had the opportunity to try Clynol Play With Me Powder Punch. It is described as a “texture powder” to style hair. I was pretty curious to try it as I had never styled my hair with powder before. With gels or sprays yes, but powder? How well would it perform?
Powder Punch is part of Clynol’s Play With Me styling range, which promises to give perfect definition, a strong hold and a matte finish. The range also includes Rocky Matt Gel, Texty Extreme Matt Paste, Matty Texturising Spray and Tease Structure Cream.
It comes in a simple and pretty purple tin with a sifter on top. The directions are simple. Just shake a small amount onto the palm of your hand and rub it to transform it into liquid. Then work it into into dry hair to create your own style.
The powder is white in color and is supposed to turn into liquid, but it doesn’t. Instead, it turns into a paste when your rub it into your hands, which then disappears and you can’t see it at all once it is in your hair.
So, I applied it through my hair, near the roots and wow! The powder boosted my fine, straight and very flat hair, giving it lots volume, a matt finish (this doesn’t make hair shiny) and makes it easy to style your hair in any way you want! I honestly didn’t expect it to work so well and I was positively surprised and impressed!
The good thing is, that it feels as if you don’t have anything in your hair. It is a bit tacky (not sticky!) to the touch, but not so much to bother me. And, because it doesn’t make hair stiff but moldable, you can change your style later on. You can use it to create just volume or a quiff or any updos and it holds it in place for hours! You need to wash it out afterwards if you want to get rid of it.
Overall, I really love this product. It provides great volume for fine thin hair, allows you to style your hair in any way you want and holds it in place for hours. It leaves hair moldable, although a bit tacky when you touch it.
