Name: Creamy Concealer Kit
Brand: Bobbi Brown
Size: concealer 1.4g, powder 1.7g
From Bobbi Brown’s website:
Conceal and set in one portable kit. Bobbi’s Creamy Concealer blends easily to instantly cover and brighten dark circles. It also helps maintain skin’s moisture levels for a smooth, virtually line-less look. Fuss-free pressed powder sets concealer for long-lasting wear.
What I liked:
– available in lots of shades
– great coverage, covers dark circles and other imperfections well
– makes you look brighter and more awake
– lightweight, natural finish
– creamy, on the thick side, texture is moisturizing and blends well
– once settled with powder, it stays put for hours
– compact comes with a mirror for easier application
What I didn’t like:
– concealer creases after a few hours when used alone
– powder kicks up a dust that “contaminates” the concealer
– the price
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer is holy grail material. It’s expensive but it covers my dark circles well, making me look naturally fresh and awake for hours. However, it has one major flaw: it is not available in Italy! Boo! I had already resigned myself to start the search for a new HG all over again, when my friend Janessa came to the rescue and, taking advantage of a deal at sephora, ordered the Creamy Concealer Kit for me. Thanks hun!
The Creamy Concealer Kit features a concealer and a sheer pressed powder, both of which are also available separately. Just not on the sephora website. You can get only the kit there, which is a very convenient product, especially for travelling.
The concealer itself only lasts about 7 hours of wear on its own. With a little dusting of powder, though, it remains put for 12. The only problem with the powder is that it kicks up some dust that ends up in the concealer, so you have to be very careful when you pick it up.
All the shades available bar Porcelain (the one I have) feature a yellow powder. Porcelain, instead, comes with a white one. This way, the powder helps to set the concealer without changing its colour. It’s just invisible, keeping everything in place without making you look fake or unnatural.
The formula of the concealer, instead, changed slightly since the last time I tried it. It is now thicker and a bit stiffer, but still very creamy. The extra stiffness just allows the concealer to adhere better to the skin, helping it to stay put, and preventing it from settling into fine lines (although it will crease after a few hours if not set with powder).
Yet, it is still creamy enough to blend effortlessly. It provides a slight moisturizing action, which makes it very suitable for mature skin types, and feels very lightweight on. Coverage is great. It’s pigmented enough to easily cover up dark circles and puffiness, but also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
You dab a tiny amount on your tired eye area and, instantly, you look brighter and awake, ready to face the day. If you have the chance to try it, do so. You won’t regret it. And if you really can’t stand powder and cream products in the same compact, you can always purchase the concealer on its own and set it with your favourite powder.
Now, let’s just hope that Bobbi Brown will open a store in Italy too soon.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit contains a concealer, a setting powder and a mirror. The concealer has a pigmented, lightweight, creamy, quite thick consistency that blends effortlessly, concealing dark circles and other imperfections, and making you look brighter and awake. The finish is very natural and, when set with the sheer powder, stays put for about 12 hours. However, the powder kicks up a dust that “contaminates” the concealer after a few uses.
