live love read

Hello everyone,

Sunday Random Ramblings has got a makeover! I’ll still be sharing my random ramblings and musings with you, but in a new format.

Each week, I’ll share random updates from my life, what I’m loving at the moment, and, of course, what I’m reading. So, here it is, the first edition of Live Love Read. Enjoy!

Live

The past week was both quiet and eventful for me. Three of my flatmates are moving out. All at the same time. The house is gonna be quieter than usual.

I’m not sure how I feel about that. Although we lived together for almost three months, we didn’t have much chance to bond. They lead very busy lives, and either work a lot or travel often. As for me, when I’m not hunting for a job, I’m blogging. Those are two full time jobs!

As sad as I am to see them go, I can’t wait to meet my new flatmates. I’m not sure if the agency has found new tenants yet, but I hope that, whoever they are, my new flatmates are nice and, hopefully, less busy, so we can all socialise a bit more.

Love

Victoria Park. When I tell people I live close to it, the reply is always the same. “How lucky you are!,” they say with a jealous sigh. I’m very luck indeed.

Covering 86.18 hectares of open space, Victoria Park has pretty much everything you can think of: three ponds, tennis courts, a sports ground, two playgrounds, a skatepark, many historical artifacts, decorative gardens, a canal, and even a Chinese pagoda!

During the summer, pop and rock concerts are held on its grounds. I haven’t gone to one of those yet, but I’m a regular at the park. It’s so beautiful. I love strolling down its paths, or sit down on a bench to read.

In other news, I’m also loving this red Ted Baker lace dress. It has a scalloped hem and a Peter Pan collar that add a playful touch to it.

I’m thinking of subscribing to My Little Box, which features fashion, beauty and lifestyle products, all based around a different theme every month. The current one is Road Trip.

Valuable Content Marketing: How to Make Quality Content Your Key to Success by Sonja Jefferson and Sharon Tanton

Although this book is aimed mostly at startups and businesses who are just getting started with content marketing, it is also a useful resource for anyone who has a blog. It explains what kind of content you should create, how you should create it, and how you should promote it to get people to read it and share it. It covers everything from writing to social media, from seo to advertising, and a lot more.

At the end of end of each chapter, you’ll also find useful summaries and calls to action to help you put in practice everything you’ve just learned. Informative and engaging, I highly recommend you pick up a copy if you want to take your blog and your business to the next level. It’s available at both Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Hmm! These are all JUST ideas:
Your favorite beauty product of the week. It could be the same as the week before, but what you’ve just really liked or what stood out to you this week.
Favorite or most worn clothing piece.
I hope your new flatmates are going to be great, though I’m sure they will be.
I get a random roomate and suite mates this year and that’s exciting for me as I dormed with my friends las year. I loved being with them, but I’m down for a change!

I think it’d be nice to have pictures on the side. Just one or two would break up the text. When I first saw this post, I thought: So much text! I’m in a rush or too busy to get through all this. But pictures really draw me in and I’ll read to understand the pictures and eventually read all or at least most of it. In case the dress link dies a year from now, future readers will have reference to it? Again, these are all just ideas or suggestions. 😀

Janessa, thanks so much for all your suggestions! It’s so useful to know what readers think and like, as I do want to make this blog a much better place for you all to visit. Today’s post is already written, but I will keep your tips in mind for next week, and definitely add more pictures..

I hope you get great flatmates too. It’s exciting, but a bit daunting, isn’t it?
