What it is
Dicetyl Phosphate is made with cetyl alcohol and phosphoric acid.

What it does
Dicetyl Phosphate is used as a surfactant: it helps water mix with oil and dirt so that they can be rinsed away easily.
In addition, it is also used as an emulsifier: it keeps water and oils together in creams and lotions.

Side effects
Dicetyl Phosphate is generally considered to be safe.
