The Sparkling Neutral Eyeshadow I Can’t Get Enough Of

The day I bought Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette, I said goodbye to all my other eyeshadows. I had no use for them anymore.

Yep, I like Naked 3 THAT much.

Until Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow in Invoke came into my life. Now I’m cheating on Naked 3 all the time.

Kind of. I still use Naked 3 for my crease and highlight but Invoke is my new fave lid shade. It’s a goldish bronze loaded with shimmers that makes my eyes sparkle like the stars (not a discoball).

I usually avoid neutrals on my lids. I like to add a touch of colour, like a shimmering pink or pale purple, there to spice up the look (all neutrals is SO boring).

I find the gold tone in this is just the perfect mix of fun and wearable, so that’s what I’m using now. It also works well as a highlight shade in the corner of your eyes. That’s what I do on the days I feel more pink. 🙂

Colour payoff is good. A couple of swipes are enough to provide an opaque coat that lasts for at least 8 hours – if you wear it with a primer.

Oh, don’t be fooled. Invoke is super shimmery but not gritty. The texture’s pretty smooth and blends like a dream.

Now I’m curious to check out more shades from this range. I have a feeling my eyeshadow collection is about to grow bigger again…

Ooh! I love my Naked 3 too! The Illumusque eyeshadow described by you sounds a lot like the color half baked in the origional Naked and the Naked 2. I have the Naked 2, Naked 3, and the discontinued Naked Smokey.
You may like the Naked 2 because the neautral colors are unique because they are bronze yet taupe. Also, I feel like it’s a better deal than the origional Naked cause it isn’t in that crappy felt card board packaging like the first Naked, and more importantly, the colors have way fewer dupes since more neutral palettes’ colors seem to look more like the original Naked. Plus, what I didn’t like about the origional Naked is that it has those 2 shimmery grey and black shades, cause it seems like every neutral pallete has colors super like those, and the 2 matte colors in the origional Naked are in so many matte palettes including the Naked Basics collection.
Good alternatives to the Naked 3 are the Lorac Pro 3 and the Tarte in Bloom palette. Both of them are pink toned.

Hannah, yeah another Naked 3 fan! I do feel like it’s the best of the Naked bunch. I like the pinkish shades add a touch of colour to an otherwise very neutral palette. Like you, I found the Naked original a bit too boring and I’m so not a fan of the cardboard packaging. It’s so cheap. But it sounds like I may need to give Naked 2 another look. I do prefer palettes to single eyeshadows cos they give me more options, all in one place.
