Trying to hide a pimple, but making it worse? Your foundation brush can’t reach into all the nooks and crannies of your face? I feel your pain. Achieving a flawless complexion takes a lot more than a bit of foundation and a swipe of concealer. Without the right tools, you’re going nowhere.

Luckily for us, Ecotools has packaged everything we need to get flawless skin in the Four-Piece Beautiful Complexion Set. Carefully tucked inside, you’ll find the entire Complexion Collection: Mattifying Finish Brush, Skin Perfecting Brush, Eye Perfecting Brush, and Correcting Concealer Brush.

ecotools skin perfecting brush

The Skin Perfecting Brush is my favourite. It’s designed to apply BB and CC Creams, but it works well with liquid foundations as well. The dense bristles don’t soak up too much product, so none gets wasted, and distributes the colour evenly, buffing it nicely into my skin, and giving it a beautiful, naturally flawless finish.

The bristles aren’t as soft as I had imagined them to be, but they’re not scratchy either, so it’s all good. The brush’s smaller compared to most foundation brushes, so it takes longer to apply BB Cream, or whatever else you use, all over your face.

But the small size, and the slanted edge of the bristles, allow it to easily reach all areas of the face, providing precise coverage even around the eyes and nose. I always struggled to apply foundation there, but this brush makes it a breeze!

I’m also in love with the Correcting Concealer Brush. I don’t know about you, but I often find it hard to cover blemishes well with the a typical flat concealer brush. This one is smaller, with a domed shape and duo-fibre bristles that allow you to apply and blend concealer right onto the blemish.

The bristles are dense and quite stiff, but, again, not scratchy. Their denseness prevents the bristles from soaking up, and wasting, too much product, while their stiffness allows them to easily blend concealer, camouflaging problem areas, for a flawless finish.

ecotools mattifying brush

The Mattifying Finish Brush isn’t getting much love from me, but only because I don’t use powders often. Foundations and BB Creams seem to last long on me even when I don’t set them, so I just skip this step.

If you don’t, you’ll love this brush. It’s big and fluffy and, out of all the brushes in the set, the softest. It glides on the skin so smoothly!

This brush has duo fibre-bristles as well, so it’s really good at creating an airbrushed, natural finish. It works well both with pressed and loose powders, and even blushes. I like to use it to apply highly-pigmented brushes. It doesn’t pick up too much product, making application easier to control, and delivering a softer look.

ecotools correcting concealer brush

The Eye Perfecting Brush is my least favourite. It’s designed to apply concealer under the eyes. The chunky, rounded shape is supposed to resemble that of your fingers.

Although it’s not a very big brush, it’s a lot bigger than any other brush I’ve ever used to hide dark circles. And that’s a problem for me. My eyes are quite small, so I find this brush tricky to use.

The dense bristles are also a bit scratchy, which is a no-no for the delicate undereye area. I love the idea of a brush for dark circles, but the execution in this case leaves something to be desired.

Cruelty-free and eco-friendly, all the brushes have synthetic bristles and bamboo handles with a cute metallic band decorated with a palm leaf design in blue and green shades. It’s very pretty and summery.

These brushes were previously only sold separately, so if you have your eye on one or two, this is your chance to get the entire Complexion Collection at a fraction of the cost. Don’t miss it!

Ecotools Four-Piece Beautiful Complexion Set also makes a great Christmas gift. The cute, winter box comes complete with a gift tag and ribbon. No wrapping necessary!

I can’t tolerate scratchy eye brushes. I won’t use them! I used to only own a few scratchy ones and so I learned to apply with my fingers instead.
What a pretty set though. :]

Side comment: I’ve been listening to Everglow by Coldplay and I love it.

Janessa, I don’t like scratchy eye brushes either. It’s a shame this one is slightly scratchy, but at least the other three brushes aren’t, so, overall, the set is really a great deal. And it looks very pretty indeed.

I keep hearing about that song, but I don’t think I’ve listened to it yet. I’m so out of the musical loop these days lol. Will have to remedy that. 🙂

The set looks cute and I love Ecotools, but I can’t stand brushes that aren’t very soft, so unfortunately I will have to skip this set 🙁

Stavroula, I love Ecotools too, which is why I was surprised these aren’t as soft as their other brushes. Shame, isn’t it? Only one of them is scratchy though.
