Hello, I’m Gio, and I’m a workaholic.
It’s what happens when you LOVE your job, I guess. You can’t switch off.
There’s always something to write, an email to reply to, an event to attend, a new project to work on… Some days are so hectic, I barely have time to grab a quick sandwich (when, I don’t forget to eat at all!).
That’s when I have to remind myself to take some time off. Otherwise, I just burn out and I’m no good to anyone. Switching off and relaxing at the end of the day helps me recharge my batteries and makes me even more productive the next day.
So, here they are, my fave three ways to relax and unwind:
1. Read A Good Book
I love curling up with a good book at the end of the day. There’s nothing better than getting lost in a good novel, an inspiring biography, or an empowering self-help book. It’s a great way to escape your worries for a while, and it even helps you sleep better.
2. Take A Pampering Bath
I haven’t indulged in many relaxing baths since I moved to London. You can’t exactly monopolize the bathroom for 2 hours if you’re sharing it with 10 other people, can you? But, whenever I get the chance, I make myself a bubble bath, pour some nice-smelling bath salts in, turn on some relaxing music, and get lost in my thoughts. So relaxing!
3. Listen To Some Good Music
When I’m really stressed out, I put on some on my fave tunes, and sing along and dance around to them. Sure, I look like an idiot, but who cares? It’s so much fun, and after just 20 minutes, I can hardly remember my worries anymore. That’s the power of music.
