Eyebrows are one of the most important features of your face. Not only they frame it, but can also make you look younger. But not everyone is born with perfectly arched brows. Luckily, with the right tools and techniques, those of us who don’t have ’em can always fake ’em. Here’s how:
Step 2: if you notice any hair that’s too long and goes past your eyebrow shape, trim it with a small pair of scissors. If none do, you can skip this step. I only have a couple of too long hair on my left eyebrow so I only trim those.
Step 3: now it’s time to determine your shape. Grab a pencil or a makeup brush and place it along one side of your nose. Follow the line from it to the inner corner of your eye. That’s where your eyebrow should start. To determine where the arch should begin, angle the pencil across the iris. Then, angle it again, this time to the outer corner of your eye; that’s where it should end.
Step 5: it’s now time to fill in your brows. Grab either a powder or a pencil that’s exactly the same colour as that of your eyebrows, and start applying it using light and feathery strokes. This will make your eyebrows look more natural. If, once you’re done, you notice any more stray hairs, pluck them.
1. Tweezing hurts too much?: if, like me, you have a low pain tolerance, take some ice and rub it all over the eyebrow area. This will numb it so that plucking stray hairs will be less painful.
2. Need help to determine the right shape?: use a stencil. Although we all have a different brow shape, which makes it hard to find a stencil that will suit ours perfectly, using one as a guide, adjusting it as needed, will greatly help to create a nice shape. This is particularly useful for beginners. When you’ve given them the right shape once, maintaining it, even without the help of stencils, will be much easier. If you decide to use a stencil, place it on the area, fill the brow in, and then pluck any stray hair.
3. Is your powder fading throughout the day?: to make it last longer, use an eyebrow shaping wax. They can be clear or tinted and can also be found in some eyebrow kits, such as the Sleek Brow Kit.
4: Want more intensity?: if you want to add both intensity and texture, why not try Senna Brow Definer? Just mix it with a bit of powder and it will improve its colour payoff and add definition to the brows.
