Senna Cosmetics is a very underrated brand imo. Maybe it’s because of the high prices, or the boring packaging, but in any case, it’s undeserved. Founded in 1976 by celebrity makeup artist, Eugenia Weston, the brand is best known for its eyebrow products, which are among the best I have ever tried, but also makes luscious and longlasting glosses, soft and pigmented matte eyeshadows that are joy to work with and lots more. If you’re new to Senna Cosmetics, here are a few idea where to start from:
SENNA SKETCH A BROW PENCIL ($18.00)
It’s not easy to find an eyebrow pencil that doesn’t make your eyebrows look unnatural and harsh. But there’s no risk of that happening with the Sketch A Brow Pencil. It has buildable pigmentation and a thin point that allows you to easily create faux hair that look natural in just a couple of minutes. And it comes with a small comb to tame unruly hair too! It’s not the most longlasting pencil out there, but you can easily fix this by setting it with a clear brow gel.
SENNA HAUTE NUDES PALETTE ($48.00)
This is the perfect eye and face palette for lovers of neutral matte eyeshadows. The formula of the eyeshadows, and of the matte ones in particular, is wonderful: pigmented, buttery soft and easy to blend. No chalkiness here. Plus, the palette also includes a blush and a face highlighter to complement the look, and two applicators and a big mirror for easier application. All the shades are very longlasting too.
SENNA FORM A BROW KIT ($43.00)
This kit is perfect for newbies or travellers as it contains everything you need to groom your eyebrows: four stencils to help you give them a nice shape; three powders you can use alone or mix to create the perfect colour for your brows; two applicators that are actually useful; a mirror; and instructions! The result? Arched, natural-looking brows in just a few minutes.
CHEEKY BLUSH ($20.00)
This cream blush has a wonderful texture that’s soft to the touch and blends effortlessly into the skin, without leaving a sticky feel behind. The colour, which lasts for more than 8 hours on my dry cheeks, is also quite pigmented and chockfull of shimmers. While it won’t make you resemble a discoball, the shimmering glow it gives cheeks s not for the faint of heart.
SENNA LIP LACQUERS ($19.00)
Senna Lip Lacquers are sticky. I know a lot of people have a problem with sticky glosses, but it is this stickiness that makes lip products last long. And these glosses are among the most longlasting I have ever tried and can survive a small snack (but not a proper meal). They have a sheer to semi-opaque colour payoff and a beautiful shiny finish. If you’re tired of having to reapply your glosses every hour or so, do give these a try!
