From L’Oreal’s website:
Thanks to its soft and supple sponge tipped pen, Superliner gives a quick, easy and uniform application. Create a line as thick or as delicate as you wish.
What I liked:
– great colour payoff
– colour becomes brighter and shiner when the light hits it
– easy to apply thanks to the supple sponge tipped pen
– dries quickly
– stays put for the entire day
– the packaging
What I didn’t like:
– because it dries easily, you’ll have to be quick to fix mistakes
– overpriced in Italy
When it comes to liquid eyeliner, what is it that makes or breaks a purchase for you? That one thing that, if lacking, ensures you’ll never give it a second look? For me, that’s an easy-to-use applicator. Felt tips, I can do. Brushes, not so much (I have to use my own).
L’Oreal Super Liner Ultra Precision Midnight Blacks Purple comes with a “special sponge tipped pen” that promises to make application a breeze. Being the clumsy and sceptical girl I am, I doubted it would be that easy. But I was wrong. Ok, it may take me a minute longer than a liquid eyeliner pro to use this, and I do need some practice, but the tip is surprisingly easy to use even for newbies.
Maybe it’s because the tip is so thin or long, or because its material strikes the perfect balance between flexibility and stiffness. Whatever it is, it is easy for everyone to create both thin and thick lines, and even to add a sultry flick, with this.
Super Liner Purple dries very quickly too. That means that, if you make mistakes, you must be really quick to fix them. But then, this is so easy to use, I doubt you’ll make many. If I can use it, so can you. Trust me.
The colour itself is beautiful. At first it appears like a dull, even boring, dark blackish purple. But then, the light hits it. And that’s where Midnight Blacks Purple really shines. Then, the purple becomes very bright, vibrant, and slightly shiny. It’s a great, and fun, alternative to black for daytime looks because it looks so safe and dark, and then, all of a sudden, it catches the light and reveals its playful soul.
Colour payoff is amazing too, so one coat is all you need. For the entire day. On my slightly oily lids, L’Oreal Super Liner in Purple stays put, without smudging, flaking, nor fading, from morning till night. However, it’s not waterproof, so it won’t withstand crying or heavy rain. But at least that means that it is easy to remove.
