What’s your go-to lip colour? That shade that’s part of your signature look, and that you swipe on absent-mindedly when you’re in a rush because you know it’s going to complement any look and flatter your complexion? Mine is a semi-opaque light pink. Extra points if it is infused with shimmers.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Pink Innocence fits the bill perfectly. A silvery pale pink with gold shimmers, it is pigmented enough to show up well on the lips but never provides a fully opaque coat. The shimmers too, are not excessive. They beautifully illuminate your pout, skilfully avoiding a disco ball effect.
Radiant and unassuming, Pink Innocence is a wonderful daytime shade. Very flattering on fair princesses, it well balances a dark smokey eye and infuses some glowy glamour into natural, girl-next-door looks.
But darker damsels should avoid wearing it on its own. Because the colour is so pale, it may look off on their lips. Better use it on top of a darker lipstick to give it some shine.
The texture is lovely. It’s smooth, not sticky, and, on my lips, feels somewhat hydrating. I’m not sure I can call this gloss moisturizing, but it certainly feels comfortable for the three hours it stays put on the lips. It never dries them out.
The scent is divine. Fig and vanilla intertwine to create a fruity sweet scent that will make you lick your lips. But, thankfully, the gloss has no flavour. If it tasted as good as it smells, I doubt it’d last even one hour on my lips. I’d lick it all off in a heartbeat!
Very flattering on pale princesses, Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Pink Innocence provides a soft pop of pink and a radiant glow that complements any look. Non-sticky, it feels comfortable on the lips and stays put for three hours. But darker damsels will find it difficult to pull off.
