Name: Diorshow Maximizer
From Sephora’s website:
Dior’s first lash primer that creates a smooth, even mascara base and promotes long-term lash growth, strength, and vitality.
What I liked:
– adds volume and some length to lashes
– transparent, doesn’t alter the colour of the mascara
– helps mascaras last longer
– doesn’t weigh lashes down
– the wand easily reaches every lash
– can be used as an overnight conditioning treatment as well
What I didn’t like:
– you need to be very quick when you apply it
– the price
Eyeshadow primer is one of the best inventions ever. Without it, most eyeshadows just don’t work that well on us oily-lidded ladies. They fade, crease, and make us look like a mess. But use a base underneath, and they’ll stay put, intact and pretty, for hours on end.
So, it’s kind of odd that, while I have no problem buying a so-so eyeshadow knowing a primer will fix all its shortcomings, I always disliked the idea of using a lash base, thinking that mascaras should do it all – curl, lengthen, volumize, separate, and last long – on their own.
It was only when a sample of Dior Diorshow Maximizer landed on my desk, courtesy of a friend, that I finally changed my mind about lash primers. They can make a great difference and help underperforming mascaras deliver amazing results.
Dior Diorshow Maximizer is white in colour. Although it applies white, it soon becomes transparent and so doesn’t alter the colour of the mascara you’ll apply next at all. But you have to apply the mascara quickly, before the base completely dries or it won’t work nearly as well.
Little is more too. One coat of base and one of mascara is more than enough. Otherwise, it may clump. But when used in moderation, the effect is very pretty. Dior Diorshow Maximizer adds quite a bit of volume, and some length as well. Oh, and did I mention that it helps mascaras last longer too?
Its lightweight texture, which is neither wet nor gloopy, doesn’t weight lashes down either. It is easy to apply thanks to its rubbery wand. It’s just the right size – not too big but not too thin either – and has a pointed tip, making it easy to reach every lash, even the tiniest one.
Dior says the primer doubles up as deep conditioning treatment for lashes at night, but I haven’t tried it that way yet. This stuff is very expensive, and I want to make it last as long as possible. Besides, my lashes are already fine as they are, and don’t need the extra conditioning. But a lot of mascaras do need help to work their best!
Dior Diorshow Maximixer has a lightweight texture that adds both volume and length to lashes without weighing them down. It also helps mascaras last longer and can be used as an overnight conditioning treatment.
