Name: Omnia Crystalline L’Eau De Parfum
What I liked:
– if you love sweet and feminine powdery scents, this is for you
– unoffensive scent that can be worn on any occasion
What I didn’t like:
– if you don’t like scents that stay close to the skin, skip this
– poor staying power
– unoriginal and unremarkable composition
– bottle is not very practical
– the price
Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline L’Eau de Parfum is, so far, my favourite scent in the Omnia range. That’s not really a great compliment as I’m not a fan of this range. I find Green Jade too subtle and unoffending, while Coral is a youthful fruity floral concoction that smells like a thousand other scents on the market. And that’s the problem with this range. There’s nothing distinctive about it.
The same can be said about Omnia Crystalline L’Eau De Parfum, which is supposed to be a richer and stronger version of Omnia Crystalline, released in 2005. Stronger it certainly is, but that’s not saying much. Omnia fragrances stay very close to the skin, and this one is no exception. You can smell it that little bit better without straining your nose too much, though, which is an improvement.
Omnia Crystalline L’Eau De Parfum is also less woody and more citrusy than the original version. It opens with a quiet burst of relaxing lotus intertwined with zesty mandarin, which gives a short-lived fresh vibe to the composition. Pretty soon, the scent turns powdery. Not granny powdery. It’s feminine and sweet, but in an elegant way. It’s the mix of vanilla and iris that produces this accord. Finally, the fragrance ends with a creamy base of musk, benzoin and sandalwood.
There’s nothing special in this composition. Omnia Crystalline L’Eau De Parfum is not original, nor creative. On the contrary, it’s quite simple and unoffending, but I like it because it is more mature and sophisticated than the other Omnia fragrances. It’s also a scent that you can wear on any occasion, both at work, or for a casual date with a friend, or a romantic dinner. However, you will have to reapply it throughout the day. After five hours, it has almost completely faded.
Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline Eau De Parfum is an elegant, sweet and powdery scent that stays close to the skin. Although it smells lovely, there’s nothing distinctive about it, and it doesn’t even last that long.
