Name: Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in I Dream Of Greenie
Brand: Wet ‘n’ Wild
From Wet ‘n’ Wild’s website:
Coordinating trio shades takes the guesswork out of creating the perfect eye look. The “how to” palettes are created to highlight, define, and accentuate specific eye colors to create unique looks.
What I liked:
– great colour payoff
– soft texture, easy to blend
– good staying power
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– some fallout can occur
– because of the soft texture, the eyeshadows can break easily, so handle them carefully
I was broken-hearted when Wet ‘n’ Wild pulled out of my country. To add insult to injury, that happened right around the time when everyone was raving about the release of the super pigmented Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes. Boo!
It’s true that I had avoided their eyeshadows for years, but that’s only because the colours were often boring, sheer and chalky. And then, when the brand finally revamps and improves them, they just won’t sell them here anymore. That’s so unfair! 🙁
So, I was so grateful when two of my friends, Janessa and Annabella, came to my rescue. How lucky am I? They both know how much I love green eyeshadows, so they sent me the same palette, Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette. The one Janessa sent arrived completely smashed (damn postman!), but that’s ok. As I see it, I have the palette both in pressed and loose form, so I can use either the one or the other according to how the mood strikes me. 🙂
As you’ve probably inferred from my mailing accident, these eyeshadows have a very soft texture that crumbles easily (and produces a small amount of fallout, but I don’t really mind that), so, if you have the chance, I’d recommend you purchase them in store, and, once home, store them carefully. However, the softness of the eyeshadows also means you get great colour payoff.
I Dream Of Green features three green shades, each of which is marked with the area where Wet ‘n’ Wild recommends you to apply it. Of course, you can just use them however you like, but I think these hints provide a very helpful guide for newbies to follow. The eyelid shade is a bright yellow chartreuse infused with gold shimmers. The crease shade is a medium green grass with gold shimmers. The browbone shade, instead, is a pale silvery seafoam green with a frosty finish.
The shades are all very bright and fresh. It’s the perfect green palette for spring, but, if you love greens as much as me, then you’ll proudly rock it all year long. Plus, the colours are all very easy to work with and blend like a dream. With a good base, they stay put, without creasing nor fading, even on oily lids for the whole day.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in I Dream Of Greenie features three bright and pigmented green eyeshadows that blend easily and last long. However, the texture is very soft, which means the eyeshadows can easily break. In addition, some fallout can occur.
