Name: Acid Eyeshadow Palette
From Sleek’s website:
The Acid i-Divine Palette contains a fusion of vibrant colours for the more daring, with bright pinks to luminous greens amongst the 12 highly-pigmented pressed mineral-based eyeshadow shades. This palette combines matte and shimmer formulations with neon and complimentary shades that keep their vibrancy on all skin tones. The velvet-touch consistency gives full and shimmering coverage to the eye lid for maximum effect.
What I liked:
– very bright and neon shades!
– good color payoff
– soft texture, easy to blend
– sleek packaging
– palette comes with a big mirror
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– neon shades are harder to work with compared to the other shades in this palette
– neon shades are prone to fallout
Acid is one of my favourite Sleek palettes. For anyone that loves brights and neons, this palette is a must have. I got mine as soon as t was first released but back then the palette was LE and by the time I managed to get hold of it, it wasn’t available anymore. That’s why I just swatched it briefly but didn’t bother with a full review. Well, it seems that, thanks to popular demand, this palette is available again and I think it’s high time for a proper, full review, don’t you? Let’s get started then.
Acid contains 12 mineral based eyeshadows, all of which are insanely bright and bold, and have different finishes: most of them are matte while only a few are shimmery. 4 of the shades included are neon. It’s not everyday you come across a palette with neons and even though they aren’t the easiest colors to pull off and definitely not for the faint of heart, I love them.
The matte colors are all beautiful, especially the pink and green, but they aren’t without fault. They are less pigmented than the other shades in this palette (although not sheer), but easily buildable for a much bolder look. In addition, they are also prone to fallout so if you’re gonna use them, I suggest you use a good primer to help the color stick better to the lids and maybe do your eye makeup before you do your face. Overall, the neons take a bit more work to apply then the other shades in this palette, but the end result is truly gorgeous and vibrant.
The other eight shades are just as good as the eyeshadows in the other Sleek palettes: they all have excellent color payoff, a soft texture that blends easily and last all day. But I don’t think it’s worth buying a palette if you’re not interested in neon shades as in that case you’d only use 8 of the 12 colors included. You’d be better off buying one of the other palettes Sleek makes.
If you are a fan of bold, bright and vibrant shades and want to add some neons to your collection, Sleek Acid Eyeshadow Palette is a must-have. Anyone else, could skip this. The shades have great color payoff, are soft and blend easily. However, the four neon shades are less pigmented than the other shades and prone to fall out. They need a primer to make them work their best, and when they do, they are beautiful.
