Name: No More Mistakes Manicure Clean-up Pen
Brand: Sally Hansen
From Sally Hansen’s website:
Innovative precision tapered felt-tip pen instantly erases nail color mistakes with just one stroke. Removes smudges and smears. Quick and precise…won’t ruin freshly applied nail color. As easy to use as writing with a pen! Refillable plus 2 extra replacement tips provided.
What I liked:
– removes mistakes well at first
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– product dries out very quickly, making the pen useless after a couple of uses
– tips break off easily
I love wearing nail polish but hate applying it. I’m a very clumsy person so when I put nail polish on, some of it always ends up on my skin and cuticles! Usually, I dip a cotton-swab into a nail polish remover but because its tip is quite big to work in such small areas, I sometimes end up removing too much polish. So when I saw Sally Hansen No More Mistakes Manicure Clean-up Pen, I had to buy it. I thought the concept was cool and I was very hopeful it would solve my polish application problem.
The pen comes in a blister packaging (which I threw away before I took the pix, silly me! lol) with two extra replacement tips. The tips are chiseled to a point, allowing you to get really close to the nail but removing only the nail polish around it. Using the pen is easy: you just glide on the mistakes, while applying some pressure, and they are easily removed. The first time you use it at least. The tip gets dirty very quickly so it needs to be cleaned after every use. In addition, the removing solution dries up really easily and already from the second use, you’ll see how much harder correcting the mistakes has become.
This means that you will have to replace the tips soon and you’ll run out of them quickly. However, I never had the chance to substitute the tip. The second time I used the pen, the tip broke off so close to the opening that I was never able to take the stump out. So now I’m left with a useless pen and two brand new, unused tips! This pen may be cheap, but it’s nonetheless a waste of money. Even if you can substitute the tip, you won’t get more than a couple of uses out of each of them! I think I will just stick to q-tips and nail polish remover from now on.
Available at: drugstores
Although I love the concept of Sally Hansen No More Mistakes Manicure Clean-up Pen, the product itself leaves a lot to be desired. The tip allows to remove polish close to the nail easily but the solution dries out fast so removal will be more difficult from the second use. And the tips break off easily.
