Name: Body Cream With Mint And Briar Rose
Brand: Omnia Botanica
From Omnia Botanica’s website:
Rich cream that is soft and velvety to the touch. It produces an intense moisturizing and revitalizing action. Gives the skin a real energy boost, leaving it incredibly soft.
What I liked:
– moisturizing, leaves skin soft and smooth
– absorbs quickly
– the packaging
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– texture is very runny
– it’s easy to pour out a lot more product than necessary
– the scent (it stinks!)
Omnia Botanica is a brand that only recently made its appearance in my local drugstore and obviously I had to try something. Because I needed a new body cream, I eventually settled for their Body Cream with Mint and Briar Rose, which is supposed to revitalize and moisturize skin. Well, it didn’t really give my skin an energy boost (but then can creams really do that?!), but I have no complaints on its moisturizing properties.
I apply the cream in the morning after I shower and it sinks into the skin fast, leaving it soft, smooth and hydrated for almost the entire day (it needs to be reapplied in the evening, but I’m often too lazy to do it lol). Considering how dry the skin on my body is, though, this is no mean feat. If your skin isn’t as dry as mine, the hydrating action will probably last a lot longer.
However, I have two problems with this cream. First of all, the consistency. It is very, very runny and every time I squeeze the tube, too much product comes out and some gets wasted. Because of this, I also find it quite messy to use. Next, the scent. It has a very distinctive and strong scent. It’s hard to describe. I can smell a minty and a mix of herbal notes which I’m sure all smell lovely separately but together they just don’t work. It just stinks.
I think I could have put up with the runny consistency considering how moisturizing the cream is, but the smell is too much for me. If a cream makes me stink, I’m not gonna use it. I’ll try and finish this tube as I hate wastage, but I definitely won’t repurchase. It’s such a shame when a company ruins a good product with a bad scent. Of course, scent are subjective so it may actually smell lovely on someone else, but for me, it just didn’t work.
