Name: Liquid Eye in Brown
From Milani’s website:
With Liquid Eye, there’s no need to sacrifice a smooth, easy application in achieving that bold, liquid look. Color glides on effortlessly and stays in place for smudge-proof, long-lasting wear.
What I liked:
– provides the intense look of a liquid eyeliner, but with the convenience of a pencil
– easy to apply
– excellent colour payoff
– super creamy texture, glides on the lids like a feather
– longlasting, doesn’t smudge
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– it starts to slightly fade after eight hours of wear
If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ve probably noticed that I use almost always a pencil eyeliner in my FOTDs, even for darker, smokier looks when a sharper and shinier liquid eyeliner would be more appropriate. There’s a reason for that. I suck at liquid eyeliner. Try as I might, I can’t seem to be able to get the hang of it. If the eyeliner comes in a pen form then, with a bit of work, I can get a decent line.
But those eyeliners with a brush applicator? Forget it. I just can’t draw a straight line with them. Luckily, Milani (and my friend Janessa) came to the rescue. Milani Liquid Eye eyeliner pencil, which is available in both retractable and sharpable versions (I have the latter) promises the look of a liquid eyeliner, but with the convenience of a pencil.
And it actually delivers. With just one stroke, Brown (that’s the shade I was sent) leaves a super intense line of colour on my lids. The brown shade is very dark and has a lovely matte finish. It is a great alternative to black for those looking for a softer daytime look.
But Milani Liquid Eye Pencil in Brown isn’t just insanely pigmented. It is also extremely creamy. It glides on the lids so smoothly, like a feather, without pulling nor tugging. I fell in love with it instantly, but I was still a bit concerned the colour would quickly smudge. As a rule, the creamier the texture, the shorter the staying power. But, as we all know, every rule has an exception. And this is it.
I apply the eyeliner in the morning, before leaving the house, and, eight hours later it is still intact and in perfect condition. After that, the line begins to slowly fade, becoming slightly less intense, but it never smudges. Not even in the hot and humid Italian summer weather. And even when I don’t use a primer! I’m very impressed. Oh, and if you want to smudge it to create a smokier look, you can do so easily. Just be quick, cos it sets within minutes. Its only con? Milani’s not available in Italy. Boo! I’d get this in every sahde if it was!

Milani Liquid Eye in Brown provides the intense look of a liquid eyeliner with the convenience of a pencil. Easy to apply, the pencil has a very creamy texture that glides on the skin like a feather, leaving a very pigmented and intense line of colour behind that won’t smudge throughout the day. It will only slowly start to fade after eight hours.
