What I liked:
– shades is beautiful, bright but wearable
– very pigmented
– good staying power
– the packaging
What I didn’t like:
– can feel drying on the lips
Michael Todd Creme Lipstick in Pumpink looks like a bright orange coral shade in the tube. As much as I love bright shades, I was a bit weary to try it as I thought it’d be hard to pull off but it’s not. On the lips, it becomes more peachy, making the shade very wearable. It’s still bright, but not too much so you can get away with wearing it during the day too.
Pumpkin is very pigmented and you just need one layer for full, opaque coverage. But as it is often the case with very rich shades, the texture is not very moisturizing. It feels a bit drying on the lips when applied on its own so I suggest swiping on a layer of lip balm underneath. This way, the lipstick will feel comfortable on your lips and apply more smoothly too.
Once applied, the color lasts about 3 to 4 hours on me, which I think it’s good for a lipstick as most lip products only last 2 hours on my lips. I also noticed that the color is still on my lips even after I’ve had dinner but of course it has faded and it’s not as fresh as before.
I also like the tube, which is simple and pretty. However, it is also quite small and at first, I was disappointed about this. But when I compared the lipstick inside to others in my collection, I realised that the quantity of the product is the same. You basically get a full size lipstick packaged in a smaller tube.
Michael Todd Creme Lipstick in Pumpkin is a bright coral/orange lipstick which looks scary in the tube but applies as a very wearable peachy shade on the lips. Pigmented and longlasting, it doesn’t have a very moisturizing texture so using a lip balm underneath it is necessary.
