Name: Beauty Bar Eye Pigments
Size: 2 gm
From Lumiere’s website:
Lumiere eye pigments come in a wonderful variety of shades and textures to complement any eye color and/or preference. Wear each shade alone or mix and match to create a custom color. They can be applied dry for a subtle look or wet/foiled to make a more dramatic appearance – this will also give you longer wear. Can be worn with or without an eye primer.
What I liked:
– available in a lot of beautiful colors
– good color payoff
– easy to blend
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– can crease without a primer
Recently, I’ve had the chance to try a few products from Lumiere, including their eyeshadow pigments, which are available in lots of beautiful colors. I have honey brown, which is a reddish brown with lots of honey gold shimmers, and pink satin, a soft brownish-pink.
The powder can seem a bit gritty in the pot, but it is actually finely-milled, smooth and very easy to blend. The color payoff is good too. Honey brown is very pigmented while pink satin applies quite sheer but can be built up for more intensity. The pigmentation is even better if you use them wet or with a primer.
But I think a primer is essential with these, as without, they can crease. In addition, the primer will make the colors last all day. They stay on for several hours even without a base, but then expect some fading.
The packaging is pretty and elegant and the shadows are very affordable too. The pigments are available in 1gm sample square jars with no sifter and a screw-on black lid and costs $5.00, while the full size jars, which contain 2gm and cost $8.00, have a circular shape and a sifter. They can be purchased at www.lumierecosmetics.com
Overall, Lumiere pigments are pretty good, especially considered the price. They are available in a large selection of shades, have good color payoff and, if used with a primer, will last all day and won’t crease.
