Name: Energising Body Lotion
Brand: Liz Earle
From Liz Earle’s website:
This lightweight, heavenly scented lotion is packed with naturally active botanicals that have been specially selected to help smooth, firm and tone your skin. Massage into skin to improve its appearance and elasticity and to help firm and tone, particularly on problem areas such as upper arms, hips and thighs.
What I liked:
– light texture, sinks in quickly
– doesn’t leave a greasy residue behind
– leaves skin soft and smooth
– the packaging
What I didn’t like:
– not moisturizing enough for those with dry skin
– the price
One of the many reasons why I love Liz Earle products is their scent. They smell so wonderful and uplifting and their Energising Body Lotion is no exception. It is an herbal scent and quite strong but without being overpowering and, when you apply it in the morning, it gives just the little boost you need to wake up and face the day.
The lotion has a light, but not runny texture, that spreads easily and evenly on the skin, sinking in immediately without leaving a greasy residue behind. However, the lightweight texture also means that this just isn’t moisturizing enough for those who, like me, have dry skin. While the Energising Body Lotion leaves my skin soft and smooth, its moisturizing effects don’t last long on me. Those with normal or oily skin will definitely benefit a lot more from it.
But does it firm and tone skin? Well, I did notice a slight improvement, but then I’ve been eating healthier and started to exercise again lately so that probably helped too. While I wouldn’t rely solely on this body lotion (no body lotion can give the same results as cosmetic surgery and procedures and there is only so much they can do if you don’t follow a healthy lifestyle), I think it will somewhat help to improve the appearance of your skin with regular use (together with a healthy diet and exercise). However, I prefer to use it as a moisturizer than as a toning cream.
The lotion is packaged in a blue tube, which looks soothing and sleek. It also releases the right amount of product so that none gets wasted. The price, however, is a bit steep for a body lotion. But as always, Liz Earle gives you the opportunity to try a mini size (30ml for $4.75) so you can see how well the product works for you without breaking the bank.
