Name: Powder Blush in Naked Rose
From Illamasqua’s website:
Illuminate, radiate, make your face come alive with the colour and drama of Illamasqua Powder Blusher. Colour-intense and highly pigmented, use it to shade, brighten, enhance and define the shape of your face.
What I liked:
– excellent colour payoff
– almost matte finish that doesn’t look dull
– versatile, it is suitable for most looks, occasions and skintones
– smooth texture blends like a dream
– great staying power
What I didn’t like:
– pale princesses need to apply this with a very light hand
Naked Rose, a medium rosy pink shade with slightly blue undertones and an almost matte finish, is not a shade you would expect from a sassy and edgy brand like Illamasqua. Just look at it in its chic but quirky warped square-shaped compact. It looks so sweet and innocent, doesn’t it?
And yet, it packs up quite a punch, as I discovered at my expense. The first time I used it, I simply picked up a bit of product with a big fluffy brush, like I always do, swirled it on my cheeks and, next thing you knew, a clown was staring back at me in the mirror.
Luckily, the blush has a soft, smooth and finely-milled texture that blends like a dream, so with a bit of patience and blending (and a wipe), I managed to tone it down somewhat. But lesson learned. Never assume that just because a colour looks tame, it actually is. Especially if it is from Illamasqua.
Of course, my skin is very pale. If you’re a dark diva, a swipe may be subtle for you. But for most skintones in between, its pigmentation is just right. The shade too, will suit most occasions. When applied right, it gives a neutral pink flush to the cheeks that beautifully complements both a natural look for school or work or a bold and dramatic one for a night out.
And you won’t need to retouch it throughout the day. On my dry cheeks, it stays put for about 9 hours. Then, it starts to fade slowly and subtly.
Illamasqua Powder Blush in Naked Rose is a versatile, neutral pink shade that is suitable for most looks, occasions and skintones. It has excellent colour payoff and staying power and a smooth texture that’s very easy to blend.
