Name: Marble Mania Lipgloss in Coral Whirl
From Essence’s website:
The new wow effect! The marbling effect looks great and is easy to blend with other colours. Gives a super glossy look. Available in five colours.
What I liked:
– provides a sheer and shimmery wash of colour
– easy to apply, feels comfortable on the lips
– the packaging
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– if you like pigmented glosses, this is not for you
– not very longlasting
I have a soft spot for marbled products. All those colours whirled together look so cute in the packaging that, even if I know once applied the final shade will turn out basic, simple and dupable, I find it hard to resist them. And when they are as cheap as Essence Marble Mania lipgloss, a tube will definitely come home with me.
The shade I chose is called Coral Whirl, which is very misleading because it doesn’t look coral at all. Once applied the baby pink and the bright strawberry pink shades blend together to create a sheer cool-toned rose shade with silver shimmers. Totally unoriginal but pretty.
The texture, which is easy to apply thanks to the small doe-foot applicator, is on the thicker side. However, it feels comfortable on the lips (but doesn’t moisturize them) and isn’t sticky at all. Staying power is average. It lasts only two hours on my lips (less if you eat or drink) and then it’s time to reapply it again.
Do I like this lipgloss? Yes, I do. Would I repurchase it? Probably not. Despite my love for all things marble, these are gimmicky, but inexpensive, lipglosses and as such, one is enough. I would recommend it to all those who love marble products as much as I do, but it’s not really a must.
